This Kids' Bedroom is truly one we are very proud of. When the client came to us with the idea of a “jungle-themed” bedroom we knew it was our chance to look into some creative wallpaper designs. We collaborated with a local artist to design this hand-drawn jungle-themed wallpaper. The furniture is customised with dark green child-friendly paint and the decor items were all sourced by us.

This room is an excellent example of how you can conveniently work with our virtual interior design service to get that social media worthy style for your nursery or kid's room. We took this client's pretty-in-pink guest room into cozy-in-cream nursery for her second child, a baby it. Her inspiration board was chock-full of inspiration for light and airy looking rooms. White walls, with varying shades of neutrals. Soft and sophisticated, but with a touch of whimsy through adorable animal creature accents. Photo: Rich Alfonzo

We laid out all of the essentials with maximum function. Once we had a the layout finalized, we started looking for specifics. The color palette we came up with is grounded in neutrals with blush accents to add a touch of baby girl. We always want to maximise function in a room, so all our bigger purchases are gender neutral and convertible so they can be used when our clients have their second baby. We left plenty of empty space in the middle of the room for the essential tummy time and block building.

This nursery was part of a larger remodel of an attic space which included the hall, master bedroom and bathroom. Light-filled on even the most overcast days, this Portland residence is bright and airy with balance of natural materials playing off a white backdrop. Custom storage has been added throughout the addition tucked into the sloping eave spaces. Room for stacking and multiple drawer depths make storage very versatile. The corner bookshelf is great for toys, books or for a cup of coffee on one of those early mornings. The glass inset door allows borrowed light to spill into the hallway. BABY BOY NURSERY // HE’S ONE HAPPY CAMPER When we found out our second child is a boy, it took me a minute to get going on his nursery plans. For those who know me, this is very unusual. Why? Because I one-hundred-and-ten-percent thought I was having a girl. (I still can’t believe I have a boy!) I know, I know, statistically there’s a fifty-fifty percent chance; but I had NO DOUBT in my mind this baby was going to be a girl. I mean, I had 3 Pinterest boards created with different girl themes, and NONE for a boy! So, once I wrapped my head around the gender of our new family member, I just needed to find my piece of passion: the design inspiration that would set the wheels in motion… I was looking for a print, a color, a piece of art or something to inspire the rest of the room. For me, it’s usually fabric or a rug, and in this case it was the former. And I should’ve known, the Land of Nod did it again! When I came across their “Nature Trail” bedding collection, I was a smitten kitten. Heart-shaped pupils and all. This is a perfect theme for our new little man’s room because our family (on my husband’s dad’s side) goes camping for a week at the end of July e v e r y . s i n g l e . y e a r . for over the last 50 years. It’s kind of a big deal and this bedding couldn’t be more spot-on. Moving our daughter to a different bedroom and reusing her old nursery as his new nursery should have been an easy switch. But (ask my husband), I make nothing easy. Regardless of how we got there and how long it took – we got it done before baby arrived and I think it turned out adorable (ah hem, if I don’t say so myself). It certainly takes the sting out of rocking a screaming newborn back to sleep at 3 am, that’s for sure.

The white modern crib is a perfect addition in front of the stunning wallpapered accent wall. A soft, modern sports nursery for this baby boy was the perfect solution for this excited family. Using green, navy and gray, this nursery became the retreat the mother always wanted.
