BE Landscape Design
After a tear-down/remodel we were left with a west facing sloped front yard without much privacy from the street, a blank palette as it were. Re purposed concrete was used to create an entrance way and a seating area. Colorful drought tolerant trees and plants were used strategically to screen out unwanted views, and to frame the beauty of the new landscape. This yard is an example of low water, low maintenance without looking like grandmas cactus garden.

These Landscape Architectural elements were designed and installed by Great Oaks Landscape Associates Inc. Great Oaks used pergolas and arbors to accent the patio's, sitting areas, and outdoor living spaces.
Weeds Garden Design Build LLC
This was a dried out weed strewn desert of a corner lot - including front, side and back gardens, with enormous parkways as well. The entire landscape hadn’t been touched in many years. We removed all the dead grass and weeds, created swales and berms, a big rain garden, paths and seating areas all with permeable paving. Also added fruit trees and veggie beds, and transformed the space completely. Now, the garden is full of birds, butterflies and pollinators! And the clients got a sizable rebate through the LADWP landscape rebate program!
Garden Riot
Our fantastic clients asked for a distinctive garden that complements their contemporary home—a Pacific Northwest garden filled with drama and year-round interest.
We breathed character into their outdoor space by introducing undulating grasses that swayed with the breeze. A carefully curated selection of perennials and spring bulbs ensures a continuous display of colors and textures throughout the four seasons.
The best part? This garden has become a daily hangout haven for our feathered friends, butterflies, and adorable ladybugs. It's a perpetual and vibrant nature party.
Infinite Possibilities Landscape & Design
Stepping stone placement and spacing is important within a contemporary backyard design plan. Spacing depends on the size of your stones and the desired aesthetic. For a contemporary look, we chose wider gaps between stones, creating a deliberate and eye-catching pattern.
As for layout, we created a clear and intentional path with the stepping stones. You can opt for a straight path, a gently curving one, or even a geometric design, such as a grid or zigzag pattern, to achieve a contemporary feel.
Placing the stepping stones and gravel strategically provides easy access to your garden beds and other areas of interest in your backyard. This path is both functional and visually appealing.

A period correct breeze block wall was built as a backdrop to the kitchen view and an industrial charcoal corrugated metal fence completes the leitmotif and creates privacy around the property.
