A small powder room was updated with hex tile and a rustic vanity to give an industrial playful feel. The gold walls pay homage to the heritage feel. Simplifying the finishes in the space helps to make it feel more spacious.

This elegant powder room was a pleasure to create. Anaglypta Lingcrusta, a three dimensional, plaster backed, wall covering out of England finishes the bottom third if the wall. Gold leafed crown mouldings and medallion painted to mimic wood, as well as venetian plaster on the upper wall area, all in soft golden tones create a perfect balance with the French chandelier and mosaic tiled floor medallion and border. The vanity is a sideboard fitted with a stone top and sink.

The Powder Room has a sophisticated feel with contrasts of white against bronze, pattern against solid and translucent finishes against opaque finishes. The custom vanity is SW7048 Urbane Bronze with an onyx countertop. The onyx backsplash reflects the shape of the cabinet front.

The homeowner left their previous bungalow to build this beautiful modern home in the heart of Houston. They were able to take their original bathroom door with them and incorporate it into their new home. The original wood door with etched glass window is a wonderful reminder of the home where their family first took roots.
