The Block 2023' Leah and Ash chose with an above-ground Plungie Arena in Mediterranean Blue. Choosing a darker ecoFinish colour for the pool interior created a beautiful mirrored effect that reflects the pool's surroundings. Not only did the pool create an architectural feature in their yard, but the install was completed on the same day as House 1. Just another example of how Plungie mixes style and practicality.

We collaborated with Visioneer builders and Rob Mills Architects on this unique pool for a luxurious Toorak home. The pool was located in the front garden, facing the road and therefore created a new challenge for our design team. This project features a rounded pool and separate round spa with luxurious finishes that act as an additional feature to the landscape. The unique sphere shaped plants surrounding the pool creates a contrast that adds dimension and colour to the relatively neutral colour palette, whilst also keeping the rounded shape that aligns with the pool and spa. Because this is a family home, additional inclusions were considered as part of the design process, this ensures that the space not only had amazing visual features, but practical safety elements meaning that access can be more carefully controlled. The denim penny round tiles further complimented the sphere theme of the project and provided a unique look to the space. The light colour also created a stark contrast between the greenery of the shrubs and the neutral colours of the home and surrounding Eco Outdoor Granite coping. The pool and spa feature a host of modern and high-end equipment solutions including: Infloor cleaning Pool Automation synced with Home Automation Mineral Chlorination with Ozone boost Combined Gas/Solar heating systems LED Lighting Our clients love their swimming pool and the way it integrates with the house, creating a stunning visual feature whilst remaining practical at the same time.

Oval Sunken Pool | Traditional Style

This oval-shaped pool is a unique design and sunken, so you have to go down two steps before you get to the water level. Four raised pot pilasters with matching pots surround the pool and add an elegant style. The tiered flat black tile spillway goes from the spa into the pool and is a beautiful contrast to the light-colored pre-cast coping that surrounds the pool and spa. The pool sits right off the backside of house with the artificial turf coming out at 45 degree angles and there are entertainment areas on both sides of the pool. There is an outdoor bathtub off a guestroom in a patio area with side walls, but an open lattice top to view the stars while bathing.

Above-ground installation was a great choice for this backyard as it allowed the round shape of the pool to be truly appreciated. House 1’s landscape design is a great example of how the Arena can enhance lifestyle and property value without sacrificing too much backyard space.

Having shaded areas will give you more reason to stay poolside longer, too. Timber decking and stone paving are popular choices for pool surrounds, and are also helpful in creating zones. Just imagine a raised timber platform with a daybed – a luxurious, resort-style addition to any pool design. Leafy trees and rocks will create a more natural-looking oasis, and will help provide more privacy for swimmers. Where you want your landscape to be the main focus, keep pool equipment and furnishings to a minimum.
