Garage conversion into Additional Dwelling Unit / Tiny House

After spending more time at home, the recently retired homeowners recognized that their nearly 30-year-old 1990s style bathroom needed an update and upgrade. Working in the exact footprint of the previous bath and using a complementary balance of contemporary materials, fixtures and finishes the Bel Air Construction team created a refreshed bath of natural tones and textures.

В ванной комнате выбрали плитку в форме сот, швы сделали контрастными. Единственной цветной деталью стала деревянная столешница под раковиной, для прочности ее покрыли 5 слоями лака. В душевой кабине, учитывая отсутствие ванной, мы постарались создать максимальный комфорт: встроенная акустика, гидромассажные форсунки и сиденье для отдыха. Молдинги на стенах кажутся такими же, как и в комнатах - но здесь они изготовлены из акрилового камня.

This Willow Glen Eichler had undergone an 80s renovation that sadly didn't take the midcentury modern architecture into consideration. We converted both bathrooms back to a midcentury modern style with an infusion of Japandi elements. We borrowed space from the master bedroom to make the master ensuite a luxurious curbless wet room with soaking tub and Japanese tiles.

This retro bathroom pays homage to the original home while giving it a modern twist.

Ванная комната согревает одним своим видом. Керамогранит Onix от Arch Skin имеет очень натуральный, невероятно теплый тон. Горизонтальное направление линий затягивает в водоворот. Секрет этого помещения – полотенцесушитель. Его вроде бы нет, но это не так. Под рейлингами для полотенец – мат теплого пола. Стена с подогревом выполняет функцию сушки для полотенец. Il bagno principale è stato ricavato in uno spazio stretto e lungo dove si è scelto di collocare la doccia a ridosso della finestra e addossare i sanitari ed il lavabo su un lato per permettere una migliore fruizione dell’ambiente. L’uso della resina in continuità tra pavimento e soffitto e lo specchio che corre lungo il lato del bagno, lo rendono percettivamente più ampio e accogliente.

For the bathroom, we went for a moody and classic look. Sticking with a black and white color palette, we have chosen a classic subway tile for the shower walls and a black and white hex for the bathroom floor. The black vanity and floral wallpaper brought some emotion into the space and adding the champagne brass plumbing fixtures and brass mirror was the perfect pop.
