Cre8tive Rooms LtdWe were tasked with designing and installing a cinema room which could be shared by residents of a luxury development in Covent Garden, London. The room was wide and shallow with low ceilings which made the use of a ceiling mounted projector almost impossible. Not only would the aesthetics of the room have been compromised, but the residents may have experienced shadowing on the screen. We therefore opted for the latest 4k UHD ultra-short throw projector from Sony. This can be seen sitting directly under the screen producing an amazing 120 inch 4K image. Laser technology means the unit has over 50000 hours of use maintenance free and is incredibly quiet. Sound is powered by Artcoustic Speakers of Denmark using their Architect 4-2 Ceiling speaker series combined with two Impact amps sitting both sides of the bespoke media unit below the screen. Control 4 Automation pulls the system together, with all equipment being controlled through an easy to use iPad app.
Home Theater EvolutionsThis room offered the unique challenge of a curved wall. The homeowner had a large TV, sitting on a stand, in the middle of the space. What he really wanted was a screen and a projector.
We installed a 100" Black Diamond screen with a "flown" mount, which suspended the screen from the ceiling. We also installed the backlit LED lighting option, which allows the user to change the color depending on their personal preference.
The room has 5 Definitive Technology in-ceiling speakers, as well as a 10" subwoofer.
We used 2 21-space equipment racks to hold all of the electronics for the entire house.
Serious Audio VideoThe custom built equipment rack houses all the necessary hardware for their whole home system. Conveniently located just outside the screening room, the rack is easily accessible for servicing.

The Pleasure HomeThe Client's requirements for the newly converted Barn were to not damage the newly-fitted wood panelling, to sit the screen as tight to the wall as possible, whilst achieving the highest quality surround sound, given the room size and acoustic properties of the room. The budget was set at under £15,000.
We determined, that given the viewing distance and the fact that the front of the Barn was a full width set of sliding glass doors, we would recommend an 85 inch TV, rather than a Projector. This would be great for daytime viewing and actually much lower cost than a Projection system. We promptly sourced an end of line Samsung TV for just £3,000 for the Client, who was suitably impressed at the instant savings achieved!
Based on the requirement for surface mount speakers for the Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound System, we used Morel's flagship SP-3 satellite speakers for the most important front left, right and centre speaker positions and the mid-range SP-2's for the two rears.
We were asked to hide the Subwoofer if possible and were able to locate this under the stairs, using judicially spaced air holes for the sound to exit.
Finally we built a custom storage unit for the equipment on castors, so that it would also fit under the stairs. Using an Infra-red repeater, the equipment could still be controlled, either with the relevant standard remotes or our own custom iPad/iPhone 'iRemoteControl" App.
Finally the TV was re-calibrated for the best pictures settings and the sound optimised using the Audyssey Laboratories Surround Sound Calibration system.
Sources for the system are SkyQ, Neflix, AppleTV and Spotify/TIDAL music streaming via a Sonos Pre-Amplifier.
