This single family home came with a recently updated kitchen, but a cramped living space and obtrusive fireplace. We kept the furniture simple and clean with a Scandinavian bent, changed out kitchen pendants and stools to make it more modern, and transformed the adjacent room to a bright home office. We also created a sweet and simple nursery for their newest addition.
Grey Gate Interiors
Many of the owners existing items were used - bright throws, cushions and rugs were added to give the area the lift it needed to create a bright and comfortable area for reading, playing, tv watching or general having-fun!!
The Designory
“…Make this house feel like a home” was the brief from the young family who own this stunning free-standing Victorian home in Bronte. Injecting the family’s lively personality into this blank canvas was key to the brief along with maintaining child-friendly materials and finishes that were durable yet beautiful. We worked closely with the client to intertwine their personal collection of artworks and treasures with original mid-century modern furniture, vintage rugs, and collectables. From the entry hall to the bedrooms and through to the living area and dining room, each space was carefully considered to ensure we created an overall sophisticated yet eclectic look and feel.

Updated bedroom for little girl. Scheme had to work around an existing Ikea Hemnes Day-bed and use some left over kitchen work top. All on a very tight budget!

Key Decorating
This remodel was so much fun! Our client's 10 year old daughter wanted to change her bright pink horse themed room into her shades of peach woodland creatures "big girl" room. We love all of the textures and the new layout, which provided space for a reading area. A fresh new look for a super cute kid!
