Originally the kitchen of this 1930's colonial, the dining room is open through enfilade entries to the living, kitchen, and side halls, making it the heart of a home that lacked an eat-in kitchen. Painting the walls high-gloss, high-impact navy and installing custom-designed chairs covered in sturdy Trina Turk indoor-outdoor fabric brought both drama and intimacy to the room, while practicality was maintained with the glass dining table that kept the space open and airy and custom-built ins that allow the homeowner critical storage.

The clients were looking for a home design that would seamlessly flow from room to room with a transitional modern style and a touch of boho-chic. Our team achieved this look by incorporating neutral foundational pieces and complementing them with distinctive furnishings and accents that would serve as great conversation starters. The family is enthusiastic about hosting, and the design is well-suited for entertaining guests. Overall, the design is cohesive, stylish, and functional for the family's needs.

The dining room at Silver Spurs is magical. The west facing windows get incredible sunsets with horizontal evening light pouring in through the gridded windows onto the brick face surround. A 10 foot table is nearly dwarfed in this space so we opted for double pendants to fill the linear space perfectly!

In this gorgeous Carmel residence, the primary objective for the great room was to achieve a more luminous and airy ambiance by eliminating the prevalent brown tones and refinishing the floors to a natural shade. The kitchen underwent a stunning transformation, featuring white cabinets with stylish navy accents. The overly intricate hood was replaced with a striking two-tone metal hood, complemented by a marble backsplash that created an enchanting focal point. The two islands were redesigned to incorporate a new shape, offering ample seating to accommodate their large family. In the butler's pantry, floating wood shelves were installed to add visual interest, along with a beverage refrigerator. The kitchen nook was transformed into a cozy booth-like atmosphere, with an upholstered bench set against beautiful wainscoting as a backdrop. An oval table was introduced to add a touch of softness. To maintain a cohesive design throughout the home, the living room carried the blue and wood accents, incorporating them into the choice of fabrics, tiles, and shelving. The hall bath, foyer, and dining room were all refreshed to create a seamless flow and harmonious transition between each space. ---Project completed by Wendy Langston's Everything Home interior design firm, which serves Carmel, Zionsville, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, and Indianapolis. Gray washed table seats 8 people comfortably. We chose accent fabric for the backs of 2 arm chairs to add a bit of texture and interest. We love how the collage turned out as it fits perfectly on the back wall. The chandelier has white linen shade with narrow black stripes that plays off the frame color. Photography: Studio West
