The lower level is the perfect space to host a party or to watch the game. The bar is set off by dark cabinets, a mirror backsplash, and brass accents. The table serves as the perfect spot for a poker game or a board game. The Plymouth was designed to fit into the existing architecture vernacular featuring round tapered columns and eyebrow window but with an updated flair in a modern farmhouse finish. This home was designed to fit large groups for entertaining while the size of the spaces can make for intimate family gatherings. The interior pallet is neutral with splashes of blue and green for a classic feel with a modern twist. Off of the foyer you can access the home office wrapped in a two tone grasscloth and a built in bookshelf wall finished in dark brown. Moving through to the main living space are the open concept kitchen, dining and living rooms where the classic pallet is carried through in neutral gray surfaces with splashes of blue as an accent. The plan was designed for a growing family with 4 bedrooms on the upper level, including the master. Built by: Ruben Alamillo ruby2sday52@gmail.com 951.941.8304 This bar features a wine refrigerator at each end and doors applied to match the cabinet doors. Materials used for this project are a 36”x 12’ Parota live edge slab for the countertop, paint grade plywood for the cabinets, and 1/2” x 2” x 12” wood planks that were painted & textured for the wall background. The shelves and decor provided by the designer.

This guest bedroom transform into a family room and a murphy bed is lowered with guests need a place to sleep. Built in cherry cabinets and cherry paneling is around the entire room. The glass cabinet houses a humidor for cigar storage. Two floating shelves offer a spot for display and stacked stone is behind them to add texture. A TV was built in to the cabinets so it is the ultimate relaxing zone. A murphy bed folds down when an extra bed is needed.

We juxtaposed bold colors and contemporary furnishings with the early twentieth-century interior architecture for this four-level Pacific Heights Edwardian. The home's showpiece is the living room, where the walls received a rich coat of blackened teal blue paint with a high gloss finish, while the high ceiling is painted off-white with violet undertones. Against this dramatic backdrop, we placed a streamlined sofa upholstered in an opulent navy velour and companioned it with a pair of modern lounge chairs covered in raspberry mohair. An artisanal wool and silk rug in indigo, wine, and smoke ties the space together.

Where should you position your home bar?

The most popular location for a transitional home bar is in or near the kitchen or dining room. If you prefer entertaining outdoors, however, an outdoor bar can be a dream addition to any Aussie backyard – and imagine the luxury of swimming up to your very own pool bar! What type of home bar is best suited to your needs?

Home bars come in all shapes and sizes, and with an array of practicalities. Utilise an awkward corner with a cabinet bar; maximise floor space with a trunk bar, which unfolds to create a bar counter; or conveniently turn any space in your house into a bar room with a mobile bar such as a fun bar cart. If you prefer a more grandiose option, or all the amenities of a real bar, you can’t go past a built-in transitional home bar.

What home bar functionalities do you want to include?

Decide how you will use the bar and whether you will need sinks, storage and refrigeration. Bar tools and accessories are an easy and interchangeable way to personalise your bar design. You may want to create a wine bar, tavern-style bar or retro bar, so look for wine glasses and tumblers, for instance, that will help carry this style. Coasters, bar mats or signage will help you to further achieve your desired look.
