Century Stair CompanyThis design utilizes the available well-lit interior space (complementing the existing architecture aesthetic), a floating mezzanine area surrounded by straight flights composed of 1” hickory treads, a hand-forged metal balustrade system, and a stained wooden handrail to match finished flooring. Omar Gutiérrez, ArchitectConverted a tired two-flat into a transitional single family home. The very narrow staircase was converted to an ample, bright u-shape staircase, the first floor and basement were opened for better flow, the existing second floor bedrooms were reconfigured and the existing second floor kitchen was converted to a master bath. A new detached garage was added in the back of the property.

Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLCEntry stair hall of this updated 1940's Custom Cape Ranch. The classically detailed arched doorways and original wainscot paneling in the living room, dining room, stair hall and bedrooms were kept and refinished, as were the many original red brick fireplaces found in most rooms. These and other Traditional features were kept to balance the contemporary renovations resulting in a Transitional style throughout the home. Large windows and French doors were added to allow ample natural light to enter the home. The mainly white interior enhances this light and brightens a previously dark home.

Edgewater Design GroupWe were hired to create a Lake Charlevoix retreat for our client’s to be used by their whole family throughout the year. We were tasked with creating an inviting cottage that would also have plenty of space for the family and their guests. The main level features open concept living and dining, gourmet kitchen, walk-in pantry, office/library, laundry, powder room and master suite. The walk-out lower level houses a recreation room, wet bar/kitchenette, guest suite, two guest bedrooms, large bathroom, beach entry area and large walk in closet for all their outdoor gear. Balconies and a beautiful stone patio allow the family to live and entertain seamlessly from inside to outside. Coffered ceilings, built in shelving and beautiful white moldings create a stunning interior. Our clients truly love their Northern Michigan home and enjoy every opportunity to come and relax or entertain in their striking space.
