Rudloff Custom Builders
We completely renovated this Haverford home between Memorial Day and Labor Day! We maintained the traditional feel of this colonial home with Early-American heart pine floors and bead board on the walls of various rooms. But we also added features of modern living. The open concept kitchen has warm blue cabinetry, an eating area with a built-in bench with storage, and an especially convenient area for pet supplies and eating! Subtle and sophisticated, the bathrooms are awash in gray and white Carrara marble. We custom made built-in shelves, storage and a closet throughout the home. Crafting the millwork on the staircase walls, post and railing was our favorite part of the project.
Rudloff Custom Builders has won Best of Houzz for Customer Service in 2014, 2015 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020. We also were voted Best of Design in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, which only 2% of professionals receive. Rudloff Custom Builders has been featured on Houzz in their Kitchen of the Week, What to Know About Using Reclaimed Wood in the Kitchen as well as included in their Bathroom WorkBook article. Schulte Design Build
Schulte Design Build collaborated with the homeowners of this 1930 brick Tudor Green Lake home to dramatically update and modernize their kitchen and a second-floor master suite.
The kitchen was first expanded by removing an arched dividing wall, giving the family twice the amount of counter space. The new design considered all end uses for the best layout of the new cabinets, appliances, and lighting fixtures, along with an area for a breakfast table. The color palette chosen was white shaker cabinets with white quartz for countertop and backsplash and contrasting dark hardwoods to make the most of the available light. Results – a beautiful, bright and open kitchen perfect for their lifestyle and entertaining plans.
Upstairs, we altered the space from two small bedrooms and an outdated bathroom to a spacious master bedroom suite with extended ceilings, plenty of storage, and a clean, modern bathroom to match. The design really utilized every inch of the sloped roof for extra closet space. The clients are thrilled with the results!

AFTER PHOTO- Glass counter top with LED lighting turned on. The radiant Aquamarine glass upper counter on the island is from Glass by Pental. We added LED lighting beneath the glass counter which can be switched on whenever the client want a splash of color for when company comes or add more light into the room. The other slab counters are Esmeralda Rose granite on the perimeter of kitchen, as well as the lower island counter next to the cook top.
Crystal Kitchen + Bath
This downtown St. Paul condo had been updated recently but the quality and layout were not great. Before the kitchen renovation, the cabinets were not designed for a kitchen, they were very shallow, with shelves that were constantly falling. The sink was stuck in the corner which made using it very frustrating and the refrigerator was tiny.
The homeowner desired an open kitchen with a good layout, plenty of storage, ample countertops, and seating for entertaining.
To achieve these goals, we got rid of the kitchen island and open shelving unit to reconfigured the kitchen into a U-shaped layout with a huge peninsula. The large new fridge was relocated to the adjacent wall, the sink was moved out of the corner and the range was moved to the new peninsula. This gave the kitchen a great work triangle that is ideal for entertaining. Open shelves were added for display, and a bold green paint was used on the accent wall where a commissioned painting will hang.
Ample Cambria Quartz countertops in the Skara Brae pattern bring an organic feel to the space while the long linear porcelain tile backsplash adds to the industrial, modern vibe of the open loft.
This loft now matches the artistic vibes of the building, the personality of the homeowner, and imparts the quality this homeowner deserves so she can enjoy it for many years to come.
