What began as a small, extremely dated kitchen in this 1929 Spanish Casa with an even tinier nook that you could hardly eat in has turned into a gorgeous stunner full of life! We stayed true to the original style of the home and selected materials to complement and update its Spanish aesthetic. Luckily for us, our clients were on board with some color-loving ideas too! The peacock blue cabinets pair beautifully with the patterned tile and let those gorgeous accents shine! We kept the original copper hood and designed a functional kitchen with mixed metals, wire mesh cabinet detail, more counter space and room to entertain! The kitchen includes a view to the front porch through an interior window - one of a series of millwork boxes fashioned from 100 year old river reclaimed cypress with a hand rubbed oil finish. The glass backsplash provides a reflected view of the backyard BBQ and dining deck beyond. The high iron content in the glass produces that vibrant "swimming pool blue" accent in a brightly lit space of mostly white & natural wood. ©2014 felix day pretsch

We designed and built this amazing oak and forbo kitchen in birch ply . It features amazing fluted oak doors and panels, a peninsular, wine racks and hand crafted oak handles made by the owner. We also created veggie drawers in the large larder cupboards.

The original kitchen featured an island that divided the space and was out of scale for the space, the tile and countertops that were dated. Our goal was to create an inviting kitchen for gatherings, and integrate our clients color palette without doing a complete kitchen remodel. We designed a new island with high gloss paint finish in turquoise, added new quartz countertops, subway and sea glass tile, vent hood, light fixtures, farm style sink, faucet and cabinet hardware. The space is now open and offers plenty of space to cook and entertain. Keeping our environment in mind and sustainable design approach, we recycled the original Island and countertops to 2nd Used Seattle.

A bright green kitchen renovation in the heart of London. Using Granada Green, Dulux shade for the kitchen run paired with sugar pink walls. The open plan kitchen diner houses a central island with bar stools for a breakfast bar and social space. The checkerboard flooring sits next to reclaimed retrovious flooring with the perfect blend of old and new. The open larder dresser has wallpapered backing for a bespoke and unique kitchen.

The kitchen acts as an architectural element in the space, framing the different rooms that surround it.

A cramped kitchen with exceptionally poor lighting just didn't fit the bill for these homeowners who enjoying food preservation and making their own adult beverages. The kitchen was gutted and the door from the garage was moved down the wall to provide sufficient space for the cooking zone. The generously proportioned Butcher Block island facilitates family gatherings with everyone in the kitchen together. Photo by A Kitchen That Works
