The Place BetweenThis deliberate stripping to a shabby chic look provided visual interest in this fully refurb property. The lights colours on the wall and the white painted floorboards accentuated the old pine's distressed look. A balanced blend of modern and old, which added immense value to this house in need of modernisation. The modern doors were exchanged for reclaimed pine doors, which embellished a long and brightened hall. The storage galore was made just as attractive as practical.

Fin Wood LtdThe focus of this project was to transform the staircase in this home by reconstructing, strengthening and cladding the whole stair structure with antique oak. The staircase of this period property in Fulham went up two floors to the first floor and loft. The project also included installing new matching wooden boards in the upstairs bedrooms and landing. The stairs were clad with the same wood that was used for the new wooden floor on the first floor. The top of the steps, or the treads, were kept wooden and the risers were painted white to relax the wood effect. We replaced the old newel posts and handrails with new wooden ones that matched the treads, while the original spindles were freshly painted white and reused to maintain the property's classic charm and create a new handsome staircase.
