This 1850s farmhouse in the country outside NY underwent a dramatic makeover! Dark wood molding was painted white, shiplap added to the walls, wheat-colored grasscloth installed, and carpets torn out to make way for natural stone and heart pine flooring. We based the palette on quintessential American colors: red, white, and navy. Rooms that had been dark were filled with light and became the backdrop for cozy fabrics, wool rugs, and a collection of art and curios.

Very clean lines on this staircase with nice contrast between white and hardwood rails. Lots of details, including the custom made newel post.

Nothing ordinary about the modern look and finishes of this staircase. The transition to the upstairs level with this look by Lux Design, is very seamless. The blank wall leading to the second floor, has been used to display some of the client's most favorite photos from his travels, to add a layer of visual interest.

A classic library is adorned in head-to-toe mahogany wood with a showstopping marble fireplace as the accent piece. Tailored furniture and traditional lighting merge today's trends with timeless design. The high-vaulted 18' ceiling opens up the space, creating a feeling of openness and prevents the rich woods from feeling too heavy. We displayed our client's world map collection in a gallery-style manner for extra intrigue and sophistication.

An existing stair in the middle of the house was upgraded to an open stair with glass and wood railing. Walnut trim and details frame the stair including a vertical slat wood screen.

This foyer feels very serene and inviting with the light walls and live sawn white oak flooring. Custom board and batten is added to the feature wall, and stairway. Tons of sunlight greets this space with the clear glass sidelights.
