About Us

April Powers Interior Design offers complete interior design services for residential and hospitality projects and specializes in turn-key installations. Principal April Powers has designed numerous projects ranging from custom, high-end residences to restaurants, boutique inns, resorts, and wineries in locations stretching from the Napa and Sonoma Valley wine country to Woodside, Carmel, Pebble Beach, Santa Monica, Tahoe, and Hawaii. April has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Prior to founding A.P.I.D. in 2009 she was the Senior Interior Designer for Backen, Gillam, & Kroeger Architects for seven years where she worked closely with the principal architects to develop each interiors project. She is very comfortable with the relationship between architecture and interior design and as a result brings a comprehensive approach to her firm’s interiors work. Her attention to detail is exemplified in each of her finished projects and each has it’s own personality based on the individual project/client needs. April Powers has been one of our favorite clients for many years now, we have fabricate numerous custom furniture designs for her projects - from Napa Valley to Hawaii. April and her design team are both talented and professional, dedicated to their clients, and to the final interior vision. All her designs are very client specific and classic in their contemporary beauty and rich materials - it has been nothing but a pleasure working with them.

April Powers Interior Design is a rare and admirable combination of design creativity, down to earth & approachable manner and an impressive amount of experience. All of which is demonstrated by April's clear communication with clients, contractors & vendors; and her attention to detail regarding drawings, specifications, budget, construction and schedule -- everything that needs to happen for a project to be completed properly in an orderly and timely fashion. April Powers Interiors has worked on three of our projects ranging from a newly built Sonoma wine country home, to a Wyoming rental project. In every case she makes the process of interior design enjoyable. She is highly organized, responsive, and uses her time wisely. Her design background extends to cabinet drawings, architectural details and her attention to detail has been very helpful in catching small mistakes before they happen. Perhaps the greatest compliment came from our contractors who commented on her calm professionalism and her timely execution in calling out hardware, lighting and all items that needed to be scheduled. April Powers Interiors is a first class operation.

Commented: Outdoor Dining SetThe teak dining table was made custom for the project by Custom Furniture Design. The chairs are from Richard Schultz ordered through Dunkirk which is a showroom to the trade.
