Approximately 3 years ago I contacted Rachael after seeing her work in The House and Garden magazine. My entrance way garden consisting of 3 small almost square boxes on 3 levels was in serious need of rejuvenation. My brief was that each garden had to be easy care and interesting. Throughout the consulting and design process she was enthusiastic, excited and immediately had a vision for the gardens. Her design plan was very explicit and so there were no surprises on their completion. She was an absolute delight to deal with and I am still thrilled with the result. I have 3 very individual gardens.

Rachael is absolutely fantastic and we’re both thrilled with the garden she designed for us. We asked Rachael to design the hard landscaping as well as create a planting plan. We love what she came up with and she was great to work with – creative, fun and very conscientious. We were particularly impressed with how she detailed and itemised everything. Having just completed a major building project, Rachael really distinguished herself by being totally transparent around billing and costs.

We love our courtyard garden designed by Hedge - perfect for the space and our house. Rach did a wonderful job and her followup 6 months on has been fantastic.

Rachael drew up a plan for our garden and hard surfaces from a blank canvas. Although she was happy for us to vary this plan we didn’t and are very impressed with the result. Rachel was a welcome addition to the team and was the designer I was looking to complement the renovations we had done to our Victorian family home. She is very professional and knowledgeable and assisted us to landscape, plant and transform both our front and back gardens within budget and in a timely fashion. Rachael was on our wavelength from the start and helped to enhance the existing garden at the back by incorporating some structure, and overhauled the landscaping and planting of the front garden while saving our most treasured plants for re-use in the new garden. I was very impressed by Rachael's knowledge of plants, the conditions the different plants thrive in, and the way her choice of plant or flower colours harmonised together. Rachael also interfaced brilliantly with our landscapers. We were lucky enough to have our garden featured in NZ House & Garden, in large part due to Rachael's efforts. We wanted to transform our backyard into a space that allowed space for our kids to play sport and matched the contemporary and minimalist style of our home. Hedge transformed our backyard into a very special area that achieved exactly what we wanted. We had lots of fun in the process and continue to be really well supported by Hedge for all our ongoing garden needs.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Rachael and the Hedge team. We undertook a major house renovation and were looking for a contemporary and low maintenance outdoor space to complement our home. Rachael advised us on the best plantings for our section, and she and her team undertook the work. Two years later we are still thrilled with the results. We live in a high wind area, the plants have thrived and the outdoors looks great.

We called Rachael to help us redesign our outdoor area including the hard landscaping and irrigation. She listened to what we liked and came up with a stunning design that we are absolutely thrilled with. The garden has beautiful structure but isn't 'formal' and the plants Rachael chose give us a different look each season while continuing to evolve as they mature. Our garden has been hugely admired and we have recommended Rachael to a number of our friends.

We needed to redesign our back garden to make it more family friendly. Working with Rachel was very fun and she presented some ideas that were incredible. We are so happy with the results and truly love our garden.

Rachel was awesome. We had done some work ourselves but got stuck with our challenging site. She completely got my brief. Her design absolutely nailed it. And my husband loved it too. She was extremely organised, everything in the design was costed and documented; plant varieties, sizes, labour, mulch, everything. And most importantly we love the finished result. We can't wait to move on to the next part of the garden. We will definitely enlist her help again. It was money well spent and we came in under budget!
