“Minh Ta was introduced to us by our builder to help design out family home in Kitsilano Vancouver. We were using another architect for our previous home builds but was recommended Minh because he had extensive knowledge in home design and architecture for new Vancouver home builds. As you may or may not know, the building codes in Vancouver unique, difficult to understand and interpret into real life designs without incurring subjective review of the City of Vancouver. Rules are ever changing in Vancouver and having a competent and experienced architect is key to successfully submitting and passing a set of plans for your dream home in an efficiently timed manner. Our application process to final acceptance was almost exactly four months which had blown away previous estimates of year to year and half (advised to us by other friends who had build recently). The reason for this quick turnaround was due to Minhès knowledge and ability to create our dreams in a passable set of plans under the current building codes of the times. Minh is highly informative, helpful, a great listener and I would recommend him to anyone hoping to build their dream home.”

“I recently had the opportunity to work with Kevin on the transformation / renovation a 1985 built home - into a new contemporary dream home. It was a very challenging project! There was multiple new rooflines added, 3 new decks, a new front entrance, a cantilevered floor section, and a complete exterior alteration. The original home is unrecognizable. Kevin came highly recommended, and he's been an integral part of this project. Kevin was able to easily navigate through various ideas, and found very clever ways of adding all these onto the final plans. Impressive is his professionalism and quality workmanship. “Susanne Doise has worked for us as a designer and project manager, introducing contemporary ideas and good space solutions always with her touch of European flavor . We enlarged and modified the interior and exterior of the second floor of a 50 year old house into an open space concept mostly in the dining, sitting and kitchen area as well as the Master Bedroom quarters. Overall good work, within budget and complete understanding of our needs and lifestyle.”

“I contracted Scott for his great drawing work and 3D renderings. For three years he was pivotal in a seven-million-dollar house project where his work helped the owner and me visualize areas of the home before they were built. His renderings were amazing in that we could see all aspects of the design in colour and scale. Together we developed scale drawings of furniture and cabinets as well as extensive metal work that the sub trades were able to use on their own CAD assisted machinery. The finished pieces are all in place in the client’s new home. Great work!!”

She listen to our ideas and provided knowledgeable feedback. Ms. Lacas took our ideas and created outstanding drawings. She took it upon herself to providing us with additional ideas we hadn't even thought of. She was thinking beyond, out side of the box, which was great for us. “Having built two homes before, we were impressed with what Step One Design had to offer and commissioned Mike to draw up the plans for our current home. Mike arranged to meet with us at our lot, listened to our ideas and offered feedback and suggestions to come up with a plan that fit us perfectly based on our wants and needs. He was accessible, easy to communicate with and provided the plans on schedule.
