ROM architecture studio
Architects in Lacey, WA
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars3 December 2012
“Röm Architecture Studio was the brains behind our significant remodel. As an architect myself, I had high standards for both professional service and the design solution. Not currently working in residential, I needed someone who could take my handwaving and concerns and turn them into solutions. Carol Sundstrom listened to our wishes and dreams, and suggested a novel idea. Our initial reaction was to be stunned - she was relocating rooms around the floor plan of the house but in the end, it works just the way we wanted it to. Our remodel was complete a couple of years ago and it is not only a lovely space but it fits our family's lifestyle. Accessibility for wheelchair users was a high priority for us and she accommodated our needs gracefully.”
Drager Architecture
Architects in Lacey, WA
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars1 November 2012
“Bret Drager was my late wife's and my architect for a very contemporary design home we built on Whidbey Island in 2003-2004. He was personable, sensible, and creative throughout the process, and did not cost an arm and a leg. He asked us provocative questions to begin the process and came forth then with five design concepts. After we choose one, he involved us a lot in the process, but still directed us well and saved us from a number of bad mistakes we would otherwise have been attracted to. He welcomed the involvement of our contractor before construction drawings were finished, which again saved a number of headaches. When most of the last of our sweat equity -- and the house -- was finished, he visited with several of his staff to kick back and savor the result. We have kept in touch since.”
Andrew Mikhael Architect
Architects in Lacey, WA
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars1 May 2013
“Andrew helped us file for an Alt-2 permit with the NYC DOB. He also helped us with our co-op board package. His services included initial consultation, measurements, architectural drawings, plumbing plan, statement of work being done, filing of permit (with an expeditor), permit pulling, and other certifications required by our board. Andrew was very responsive and flexible. He was able to set up an initial consultation within 24 hours. He came prepared and measured our apartment during the consultation. We executed the contract and the first payment was made shortly thereafter. Andrew has completed all of the work in his scope and has done an amazing job. Even during the renovation process, he went above and beyond his duties and continued checking in. Andrew has provided an A+ experience and we have already recommended him to a couple of friends. He's a class act and will respond very quickly in a professional and polite manner.”
L M S DESIGNS
Architects in Lacey, WA
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars24 April 2021
“Larry is very easy to work with, and has a lot of great ideas and helpful suggestion's. This is a first house that we have started from the ground up and he treated each of our questions with respect even if it wasn't something that could be done. He would then explain why it would or wouldn't work.”
Hygaard
Architects in Lacey, WA
Average rating: 4 out of 5 stars2 February 2015
“I hired Dave Hygard to do a major remodel for me. He completely remodeled the kitchen, including new cabinets, new flooring, new countertops. Both bathrooms were also remodeled including all cabinetry, sinks and hardware. New tile flooring was put into the bathroom with a heating element underneath. All new flooring went through approximately half of my home. Plus he customized storage areas, replaced all interior doors including all closet doors. "Popcorn" was removed from several ceilings. Overall, the job was done professionally, on time, and within budget.”
Brett Marlo Design Build
Architects in Lacey, WA
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars14 February 2013
“We collaborated with Brett Marlo Designs on a custom sliding door for one of her projects. Brett wanted to transform a nook into a study room for her customer's daughters and came to us with the idea of the sliding door. We really enjoyed working with Brett throughout the whole process. She has a great eye for design and is really good at solving design constraints. As you can see from the picture the result of her design was an amazing study space. We look forward to working with her on many projects in the future.”
Swalling Walk Architects, LLC
Architects in Lacey, WA
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars13 November 2014
“The Boston Harbor House After two years of failed starts with contractors who couldn't understand the difference between colonial and craftsman, I did what I should have done in the beginning - I met with Sheila Swalling, who immediately understood blending historic design elements with modern conveniences. We were working with a small waterfront lot, and the goal was to recreate a stone house of the type you see along the shores of the east coast and Europe. It was also very important to have total privacy from the street while keeping the feel of an inviting cottage. Sheila's floorplan brilliantly accomplishes including everything essential on the first floor. Family spaces upstairs include an office, a library in the open hallway with coffee service for the upstairs bedrooms. The third floor, a kids' sleeping porch, is perhaps the most special room of all with the roof angles, the skylight and dramatic 180 degree water views. Besides the constrained footprint, we were also against a hard deadline for permits. Incredibly, Sheila nailed every detail after meeting with me only three times, and she produced all the drawings (structual, electrical, lighting, drainage) needed to proceed in a very short time. I hugely recommend SwallingWalk to anyone looking for a great architect. You will find that Sheila isn't just an amazing responsive professional, she's also wonderful company on the most personal of projects - your home. HUGE recommend from me!”
