“I connected with John to help restore our newly-purchased 1967 single-floor ranch cottage in Portland, OR. Even during our first interaction, John had a calm, approachable demeanor, and listen thoroughly to my design ideas. He followed through on listening with strong visualization through 3D renderings that made me feel as if I was standing in my home, before we even began construction. His realistic renderings helped us make some necessary design changes to improve the flow of the layout before investing in construction, which ended up being a massive cost-saving for us. Throughout the schematic design, design development, and construction documents phases, John had fantastic communication and was on time, even early, with his deliverables. We will 1000% utilize spacehouse's services again for our next home design project!”

“If you’re looking for a very personable and enjoyable design process for your next home, look no further. After moving from out of state, we had purchased a view lot in a newly developed gated community and driving through one weekend, we stopped and talked to a neighbor who was working in their yard about their beautiful home and they recommended that we call the designer and gave us the number to Summit Ridge. We had talked to two others designers beforehand but after meeting with all three, there was no question who we wanted to work with and we couldn't be happier. The design of our home not only fits our new northwest lifestyle but its entire design was created around us. Each room was carefully planned out and is a reflection of our lifestyle. Highly recommended.”

Giulietti Schouten Weber Architects

“We're really enjoying working with the Giulietti/Schouten team designing our new beach home. When we were searching for an architect, we looked at portfolios from many firms and were struck by the breadth and creativity of their work. The combination of artistry, creativity, flexibility, practicality, and attention to detail they bring to their work is really impressive, and has resulted in a design much better than we envisioned. It's particularly impressive when the complicated site and extreme environment of our oceanfront setting are taken into account. We're very happy with the project and feel fortunate to have found this great group of people to work with! Follow-on now that the project is finished: Our home turned out beautifully. They were extremely helpful during the construction phase, helping us with the multitude of decisions and working with our builder to assure every detail was as it was envisioned. We were really lucky to have their team to work with! We give them our highest recommendation.”

“Richard and his staff were a pleasure to deal with. He was able, after some mild beatings, to assimilate our ideas and add his own to create a very useful amalgam. We still enjoy his input and appreciation of space. Our error was failing to hire him to supervise construction, in addition to designing the building.”

“We highly recommend working with Matt and Angela for your next project. We hired them to do a complete remodel of the kitchen in the cosmetic fixer we had just purchased. This house has all the bones—solid everything—but it needs just about every inch upgraded for style and comfort. We started with the kitchen and first floor to make it comfortable enough to move in. It was a big project, but these two made it easy. Not only were they professional, enthusiastic, and very talented, but they were encouraging (while remaining completely professional) when things got tough with our not-so-great contractor. They listened very well to our needs, stayed right in line with our design aesthetic yet seamlessly took it to the next level. They honored our greatest wishes and desires while highly elevating anything we could have dreamed up on our own and did so with our budget top of mind. Their ideas were innovative, fresh, and inspired. They weren't afraid to change course when needed and make suggestions and changes that we would have never otherwise considered and that have completely created the foundation of character for our new home. We went from having a tight, stuffy, ugly, crappy, and clunky kitchen and livingroom; to having a bright, open, modern, inviting, and sophisticated home. They told us in the beginning that they would get excited with us and for us throughout this project–that got us very interested because we have worked on several other projects with other teams where things started going awry and the stress elevated. These guys only took away from the stress, staying on track and enthusiastic throughout, just like they said they would. Everything was delivered professionally and on time. They exceeded our expectations at every turn and we have our dream kitchen and living room to show for it. We cannot wait to work with them again.”

“We have had the pleasure of working with Michael on three projects -- to the studs kitchen and bathroom remodels on our home, as well as the building of an Accessory Dwelling Unit (or "mother in law" apartment/800 SF house) in our back yard. Michael has a fantastic eye for clean and timeless designs that match the character of not only the house, but the homeowners as well. While he willingly shares his opinions, we always felt he listened to us and respected both our budget and how we actually live, work and play in our spaces. We have recommended Michael to friends in the past and would do so again in a heartbeat. (As I am mentioning 3 projects, and the space below only allows for one project cost, here is a rough breakdown: the kitchen remodel was in the $50k range, the bath in the $25k and the ADU came in at right around $100k.)”

“We worked with Risa on a design for an outdoor living space structure and landscaping for our backyard. She asked a lot of questions that helped nail down the look and feel for the project. Her sketches reflected that she envisioned what we wanted and could make it a reality - an inviting covered patio, raised beds for growing food, a play area and attractive views from all aspects. Sadly, we ended up moving before we could implement the plan, but we were proud to share them with the new owners. Risa was professional and pleasant every step of the way.”
