“We engaged Steve to redesign our bathrooms. He was involved from the initial design through to the project completion, including liaising with the builder, material suppliers and cabinet maker. The results speak for themselves, employing a top architect was worth the investment.”

“Our house was finished 10 years ago, what I remember was that Geoff Lentz and I had a lot of laughs in the design process and still enjoy catching up from time to time. I showed him pictures of what we wanted and he came up with a stunner. I would change things now (not a lot), but one has to live in the house to learn that.”

“Rogan Nash have undertaken extensive redesign of the main living areas on our character Stucco Bungalow in Remuera. The latest project, currently underway is a complete revamp of the Lounge and dining room. This has involved advice on room layouts and colour scheme, selection and procurement of furniture, lighting, new fireplaces, shutters etc and liaison with sub-contractors. All work has been carried out to our complete satisfaction.”

“Jessamine designed a back deck for me and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. This wasn't a simple deck, it had to tie into an existing deck on a level below, which is yet not ground level. And because we have an odd shaped lot, it had work within the council restrictions for setbacks from our neighbours. On top of all of that, I wanted it to look interesting and give me the space and practicality I needed. Being a designer myself, I thought I knew just what it should look like, but Jessamine brought some great new ideas to the project, which improved and enhanced my original ideas. She was professional, did all the work in a timely manner, worked through all the frustrations presented by council and gave my builder a perfect set of plans for a relatively complicated structure. I would not hesitate to recommend Jessamine for any and all projects requiring an architect. And I do so regularly! She has great ideas, a creative approach and is very easy to work with while always getting the job done as timely and on budge as possible.”

“When I was looking at building a house at our beach property at Whangamata, I was told to call Smartdraw Architecture. I met up with Nick with some concept plans I had drawn and discussed my intended project with him. I was impressed with the speed and outcome that Smartdraw Architecture produced and we were very happy with the design. The whole process from design to working drawings and then building consent seemed to me to be very seamless, a lot I believe to be due to Smartdraw Architectures attention to detail and also his efficiency in dealing with any issues. I would not hesitate in recommending Smartdraw Architecture to any prospective home builders.”

“Jessop Architects designed a unique passive home allowing for maximum heat retention through thoughtful design and specification of materials, excellent ventillation and clever orientation to sun angles. The position of house is in a low lying bush area that was both beautiful in its native bush setting, yet predisposed to shade and damp. So taking advantage of sun was essential. The landscape design maximised the architectural passive design by thinning existing trees , reducing bulk and canopy to allow more filtered light to fall on living areas. This increased light to the home and to lower understory planting so that a greater variety of low growing species could be planted close to the deck areas. The planting was all eco sourced natives which would naturally grow in the area yet an artistic element was introduced with mass planting to create a more dramatic landscape result. The house was originally built for Tim Grocer othe New Zealand Trade Minister who was very supportive of the creation of a sustainable landscape to combine with the passive home, incorporating mini wetlands and the introduction of some rare native plants to reinforce his committment to the local environment. To that end, bird attracting plant species were specified, which brought in Tui , Wood Pidgeon and a variety of smaller birds foraging right up the the extensive deck areas. The decks designed by Jessop wrap thoughtfully around the northwest with a heated area and a feeling of accessibility to the bush environment. It was great to combine talents with Jessop Architects and be involved in a successful and unique building project.”
