“Doug is a genius! He is a very rare combination of an artist and an engineer. I came to Doug with a very special lot to build a Mountain Transitional home that was 20 years in the "dreaming". Carefully and open mindedly he inquired "behind" the dream to know my story and the stories behind my ideas. After spending extended time on the lot getting a sense of the views, terrain and changing daylight, he provided his first sketch and I was floored. His first draft seamlessly overcame difficult terrain to create a house that "belonged" there. I enjoyed working with him and his partnership in creating this very special home. His final work was magnificent full of interesting moments and transitions that add tremendously to joy of simply living there everyday.”
