Without realizing he was doing so, I would find that he had listened to the details I was sharing and our visions and styles and had incorporated then into a design that not only fit our budget but was exactly what I didn't know I wanted. There were lots of design elements we felt strongly about and others we were indifferent toward. Dave made room for our ideas when they were present and interjected some awesome notion when we had no opinion. His ability to listen, process, and create is paramount and his willingness to let your priorities and wishes guide the process while sprinkling his wisdom throughout the process combine to make the design experience seamless. He does not rest until he sees joy in his clients' eyes. We are still in the process of building but so far it's been a transparent, manageable experience and we have felt we are in MDI's capable hands. I'd wholeheartedly recommend MDI if you want a unique house that is wise about energy, beautiful, and an overall good experience to craft.”

“Our experience with TCG Montana was outstanding..... Our project, a messy remodel of an existing "charming" old cabin presented all the classic challenges you would expect to see in a homemade poorly constructed original building. Patience, innovation, and an eye on unique details were necessary skills to have which Cory Jones (project manager) and Ty Barrow (on site) definitely had. First and foremost both are very good guys, hard workers and honest.....As an "anal" architect I am well aware of the importance of working with people who can collaborate on a tough project as well as having a high level of craft/skill which Ty does. Many of the design moves I incorporated into the renovation were unique and not what you typically see in everyday construction...both Cory and Ty were enthusiastic about the ideas and wanted to make them better, often times their ideas improved something I was already thinking. I also very much appreciated their willingness to ask questions so they would get it right knowing I am somewhat insane about details. Cory was very transparent with hours spent (we used a Time and Materials cost approach) and always was willing to answer any billing questions I had. Again, a great experience, with a high level of quality on a very challenging project. I will be using them in the future..........”

“Mark is a good communicator which makes building a house with him both positive and clear in what expectations are in place. He was very timely and seemed efficient in the manner in which he worked. I visited the site daily and saw change each and every day. Mark is precise and orderly in how he runs a building site. Visitors to our home always speak to the feeling of being in a home that is solidly built and we agree. Our house was built with green concepts and is a dream to live in. It holds in heat in the winter and stays cool in the summer. And, Mark was open to suggestions that emerged as we were building -- like sky lights which were not on the main plan and we just love the light that comes in from those two sources. He also has a nice personality, is a good family man and seems to get along with all who know him.”

“We chose Glimm Homes to build our new home after interviewing a handful of builders in our area. Of those interviewed, Carl and Amy Glimm were the most professional. They were friendly, patient, and great listeners. “You hear horror stories all the time about builders. Not at all my experience with Tobacco Valley. Our home was done on time, on budget and with so little stress. I can't focus on that enough. The process was, dare I say wonderful. I would build with Keith and his crew any time. My house turned out EXACTLY like my dreams. I love these guys. Some specifics: this was the only company that welcomed sweat equity and let us help build it. But there was never a time there was not someone to help, guide, and offer advice for us as most of the things we did we had never tried to do before. I had the basic design, but Keith helped me make it more efficient and make changes necessary for codes and good building practices. They helped guide us to the right subcontractors and stores to pick cabinets, floors, etc. Every thing was done in the time frame we set out. When I made changes, fortunately not many, it was like I asked for the time of day. It was effortless, at least for me. There's lots more, but it was all good.
