“I first met Lian Brownson some years ago when she worked for a curtain shop in New Plymouth where she assisted me with some curtains in our home. I liked her confident and efficient manner. I then noticed she was working for herself so I decided I would call on her services when we recently built a new home. I also went to two other companies to seek their assistance. I immediately realised I could work with Lian as she really listened to what I was wanting and took that into account along with the style of the home, the style of our furniture and the look and practicalities we were requiring in our home. She did not push a particular product nor did she force her ideas on me. After listening to what I wanted and obtaining an understanding of my style, she came up with a plan. However she was not adverse to returning to say she “had been thinking” and offering an alternative. When Lian takes on a job, she gives it 100% of her time and commitment. She visited us several times which was mutually agreed as I wanted time to consider each section of the home. Her patience was amazing to say the least. She would sense when I was not 100% happy with a voile, blind or drape and she would go away and return a few days later with some other samples. She never rested until I was happy with the result. During this period she was not afraid to offer her advice and keep me on track with what we were trying to achieve. What impressed my husband and I was her attention to the detail of the final finish and how the window coverings should be viewed from various angles when one entered the room to ensure they looked right and nothing was out of place. We were blown away as no-one had previously mentioned in detail what she was being pedantic about. We are very pleased with the end result and Lian’s excellent services. She certainly goes beyond the call of any agreement/duty. She even offered and gave numerous interior design tips and ideas along the way, including offering to go shopping with us if we wanted her to. While we have our house now fully covered with blinds, voiles and drapes, we have also gained a friend. Lian is someone we would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone building a home, doing renovations, wanting assistance with colour co-ordinations, window coverings, interior design etc. who is wanting an honest, impartial, hardworking and artistic person who really does listen!!”
