With Marvin's help, we were able to assemble a team of seasoned professionals, including an engineer and a landscape architect (given the challenges of the steep slope, we needed to factor in all types of variance issues and grading challenges before trying to design the house). Through the entire design process, the Clawson team did a great job of working with our family to come up with a design that met our family's needs and articulated our vision. The house design factored in how we used various spaces and is in harmony with our landscape. Marvin and his team were with us all the way from design, town approval, builder selection, and build inspection as required. We couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome and could not have done it without the Clawson team”

“Xiomara and the team at Paredes-Grube were a pleasure to work with during the renovation of our turn-of-the-century home. We were specifically looking for an architect with experience preserving the charm of older houses, and several neighborhood recommendations pointed us directly to Xiomara. We felt we were in good hands from the initial consultation through the design process and the completion of the construction documents. Their recommended network of contractors and kitchen designers was excellent; the professionals we chose did such a beautiful job that we could not be happier with the result. At our initial consultation, Xiomara listened closely to our vision and asked insightful questions about our lifestyle and how we planned to use the renovated spaces. We truly appreciated the thoughtfulness of her approach and her focus on functional design. We iterated on concept drawings until we were happy with the proposed layout. At each step, Xiomara explained in detail why she designed things a certain way or why certain requests were not feasible or recommended. The flow of the house now makes perfect sense; the rooms were planned to maximize every square foot, even accounting for future furniture placement during the earliest design phases. The detailed design documents followed, including all side elevations, which we refined further. Xiomara and her team were always responsive to our revisions. They were knowledgeable about projected costs and town regulations, and they were incredibly patient as we explored every possible design option. As a result, we are confident that we ended up with the best possible design for our needs. One area for improvement—which may already be addressed for more recent clients—would be the inclusion of 3D renderings. While we worked primarily from 2D elevations, we believe 3D models would have helped us grasp the geometry of the additions more easily and allowed for even faster decision-making. Finally, the construction documents were completed without any major issues. When a few revisions became necessary due to unforeseen structural conditions and town official requests, the team delivered them with a very quick turnaround.”

“We reached out to Hoboken Kitchen & Bath (Tony Theodore) to help us renovate our kitchen and bathroom. Our personal experience from initial meeting to final punch list and completion was awesome. We also had the added challenges of doing this from a distance since moving from Hoboken to what is now our primary home in Hawaii. We especially needed someone that we could trust and rely on for overseeing our Hoboken renovation from beginning to end since we would not be local during most of the project. Tony from Hoboken Kitchen & Bath promptly met us to do a walk thru of our project. He gave us some great ideas and we were glad to have them in order to help us with our final decision on what to do and what not to do. We wanted this renovation to be for us and also to ensure we were getting as much value added as possible from this project. Tony called out things to help us, some of which suggested things like we should expand our counter top to accommodate more storage and seating, a pocket door solution to solve for working around a small bathroom footprint, more lighting to make things more uniform. He literally made our kitchen look super customized and our bath/shower combination feel like a luxury spa and hotel. At the end of the day, he and his team transferred builder grade to customized in weeks. Tony and his team was also incredibly flexible throughout the renovation. Even as we were coming up with “what if” situations he and his team accommodated everything that was reasonably possible and within our budget, such as adding a glass enclosure to our toilet and changing the vanity for more space even as they were close to completion. He gave us reasonable updated estimates for these last minute client initiated add ons and was able to layer this into his team and their schedules. The communication was great throughout and he also kept our very strict condo association and admin team updated which we greatly appreciated for sure. Our renovation finished only about a week longer than expected but that was due to the added extras that were not part of our original scope so we were very grateful for his team being able to keep to the estimated timeline.. Lastly, we really love our new kitchen and bathroom and all our family and friends that have stayed and used our apartment to date have all complimented on how nice and comfortable they were when using our newly renovated apartment. Based upon our personal experience, we highly recommend Tony, his team and Hoboken Kitchen & Bath. We were fortunate enough to have teamed up with a skilled contractor and designer who not only cares about the work but also his client relationships.
