“Planning for my later years with increasing physical diminishment, I used the building and design team of FAIRFAX DESIGN SOLUTIONS (Martha Fecteau and Sam Scott)) to undertake an extensive ‘Aging in Place’ remodel of my cherished home of 43 years. The remodel includes an additional powder room on main floor, creating a large master bedroom by removing a wall between 2 bedrooms, creating a large, extraordinary master bath with a 5x6 curb-less shower that includes a folding teak bench, moving W/D from basement up next to bedroom, and creating a beautiful office with built in cabinets in the old dining room. All suggested ADA/ fall prevention improvements were incorporated. Both Martha and Sam were terrific to work with. They drew on years of experience and collaboration, pulling together tremendous skill and craftsmanship in the design and execution of the project. They creatively grappled with modifications provoked by the nature of my 1955 house. They both have steady, calming personas.They were incredibly patient and accommodating to health challenges of my own during construction. Martha brought all products to me to choose from, saving me a lot of time and energy. Sam was on the project everyday — either managing the skilled laborers he brought in to do the plumbing, electricity, dry wall, tiling, etc. or crafting himself some beautiful, original wainscoting to dress up the new hallway. Martha and Sam’s reassuring skill, creativity, thoughtfulness and integrity made the remodel a blessing in every way. Marilu, McLean, VA”

“I hired Pierre Jean-Baptiste Interiors to create a new look for our den. We needed new furnishings, accessories, lighting, and a fresh coat of paint. We are a family of four and we needed a timeless space to relax after busy work and school days. To my surprise the project turned out better than expected. They provided the electrician to come and replace my old hanging chandelier. The painters were on time and clean. After proposing a sofa that I was not 100% sold on, I went against my feelings to let them piece the room together and I could not have been happier with the selections. Thanks again!”

“RoomAntics Interiors were recommended to me by a friend after I had visited my friend's renovated and rebuilt home. I had a Dining/Living room that I was constantly rearranging the furniture. I was initially skeptical that they could help me. Both Anita and Aliza spent a long time asking me what I wanted to do with the space, what colors and patterns I liked, what colors and patterns I didn't like, what pieces had to stay, what I could part with, and what could be changed. I had inherited some furniture that I was emotionally attached to and initially didn't want to part with anything. With an incredible amount of patience, they were able to convince me that I had too much dark and large furniture in the space. By parting with a few pieces of furniture and changing the colors and layout of the remaining pieces, they were able to create a lighter, better flowing, more cohesive space that matched the rest of my main floor. They added color, fabric, and texture to my room and now I can actually see and appreciate what is in the room. Anita and Aliza worked within my budget and were extremely considerate of the items that held emotional value for me. RoomAntics Interiors exceeded my expectations! When I walk through my front door, it feels lighter and happier than it ever did. Friends and family who now come in are often startled by the contrast. The transformation is dramatic. I honestly wasn't able to envision what they had in mind when they started, I wish I had done this years ago! They are currently working on my family room, so I would absolutely recommend them and use them again!”

“Six years ago, after having lived in a new house I had bought the previous year, I needed help. I wanted to make my house into a warm, welcoming home that would reflect my personality. I chose Anna Light to be my interior designer. She was always very professional. She focused on me and my tastes, my likes and dislikes and did a wonderful job. Anna has made my house into the home I’ve always wanted. It’s so beautiful. I love coming home to it and I enjoy inviting my friends over. Anna is a truly gifted interior designer. Not only does she have an innate artistic ability, but she was able to clearly determine my tastes and design my home décor around them. I also appreciated her desire and ability to stay within my budget. I worked with her again the following year to help me decorate my home for a Christmas party. She, once again, demonstrated her “gift” by making my home elegant and inviting for my guests. In the years since, she has helped me choose additional accent pieces, and even helped me frame several oil paintings. Anna is wonderful to work with and goes “above and beyond” to make her clients very happy. She’ll be the one I call the next time I need an interior designer.”
