“Valeria Design Studio designed my entire home renovation. What an incredibly talented and wonderful team! They worked well with the contractor, helped solve issues, and generally gave good advice and guidance that served my best interest. I added 400 square feet to what is a vertical house in the middle of a city block by expanding into and eliminating my yard. The result is fabulous and I love my newly renovated house!”

“We have worked with Lily and her team for two homes and are so thankful for her work. Lily is excellent at communicating the process and timelines. She works collaboratively, is responsive and listens to all of my ideas, helping me weed out the not so great ideas. The end product and look of a space is always beautiful, practical and perfectly executed. She’s great at finding ways to utilize space efficiently and selecting beautiful fabrics and lighting. “Design Milieu was an excellent firm to work with on the redesign of the office in our 125 year old Victorian. Karen Bengel, the owner, took a very odd layout and revamped it in a way that's beautiful and versatile. It was exceedingly easy to work with Karen since she truly took into account our needs and preferences. The end result was a beautiful space that works for our family. I would highly recommend Design Milieu to anyone looking for a designer.”

“I had a pending job opportunity in DC area and came across basement property that would be ready by the time I would need it (3 months later). I viewed property in construction phase and could not see it as a place I'd want to live, let alone be ready in three months. I was so wrong and so blown away! The tiny basement apartment looked roomy and had a zen flow post construction. Amazing design!”

“Kimberly helped us select art for our apartment. She has a very good eye and is well connected to artists and galleries. She was extremely respectful of our taste and preferences and never pushy. She was very prompt and provided us with many options. She also introduced me to her framer and hung the art for us. She is a pleasure to work with.”

“Kaila is wonderful! She listens to your ideas and concerns. She provides multiple choices for every item and then develops concept boards so you can see how everything comes together. She never rushes you into making a decision. She’s also careful to provide choices within the budget you’ve established. It is definitely a real pleasure working with Kaila. “Six years ago, after having lived in a new house I had bought the previous year, I needed help. I wanted to make my house into a warm, welcoming home that would reflect my personality. I chose Anna Light to be my interior designer. She was always very professional. She focused on me and my tastes, my likes and dislikes and did a wonderful job. Anna has made my house into the home I’ve always wanted. It’s so beautiful. I love coming home to it and I enjoy inviting my friends over. Anna is a truly gifted interior designer. Not only does she have an innate artistic ability, but she was able to clearly determine my tastes and design my home décor around them. I also appreciated her desire and ability to stay within my budget. I worked with her again the following year to help me decorate my home for a Christmas party. She, once again, demonstrated her “gift” by making my home elegant and inviting for my guests. In the years since, she has helped me choose additional accent pieces, and even helped me frame several oil paintings. Anna is wonderful to work with and goes “above and beyond” to make her clients very happy. She’ll be the one I call the next time I need an interior designer.”

“Norton Interiors did an amazing job updating my 1920s Sears kit home -- making it modern and livable while still honoring the fact that its a 100 year old house. E worked with us from the very beginning of purchasing the home to talk through ideas and updates we could make within our budget. A bulk of our work together focused on the kitchen, taking down a wall to expand it and updating all the cabinetry, flooring, countertops, fixtures, etc. A full renovation from top to bottom. As first time homeowners, she walked us through the process of what it would be like working with her, contractors and a typical timeline. She also has connections to outstanding vendors who made custom pieces for us, like our kitchen banquette. The kitchen turned out amazing and people can't believe it's the same space! Beyond remodeling, she helped us source furniture, wallpaper and decor for various rooms in our house, making our space feel like home. Her vision for reimagining homes and spaces is unparalleled. E is very communicative and will always give the honest answer while offering practical advice. We have enjoyed working with her and her team and look forward to working together more as we continue to update and finish the rest of the house!”

“First, I would strongly suggest working with a designer, period. Using a designer provides you with an objectivity, assistance with vendors, lower cost substitutes, discounts and a finished look that a trained designer can provide. Why Khadijah? In addition to all of the above, she is a skilled communicator (listener/interpreter). As such, she can quickly translate the client’s subjective values, aesthetic into concrete designs. Secondly, she is easy to work with. Her good people skills are particularly important in dealing with couples who bring their own communication style and differences into the conversation. Thus, KA is particularly skilled at getting to the root of differences and developing actionable solutions. Finally, she respects the client’s basic aesthetic values while gently exploring the space at the outer edge of their comfort zone. The effect is that you walk into the room and it feels right but not something you could have done yourself.”
