“We have worked with Lily and her team for two homes and are so thankful for her work. Lily is excellent at communicating the process and timelines. She works collaboratively, is responsive and listens to all of my ideas, helping me weed out the not so great ideas. The end product and look of a space is always beautiful, practical and perfectly executed. She’s great at finding ways to utilize space efficiently and selecting beautiful fabrics and lighting. I highly recommend.”

“B. Chic Interiors is a complete design based company. Bridget, the owner of B. Chic was very knowledgeable in design, furniture placement, paint colors, and was very budget concise. She is very easy to work with and has a delightful personality. Bridget helped me with paint colors, room design, choosing hardwood floors, window treatments, new furniture, kitchen backsplash, painting of kitchen cabinets, and new island for a large condo renovation. Within days of our meeting a complete package was e-mailed to me with cost estimates, and design pieces that she suggested. She will give you discounts from the companies she uses. You have the option of paying hourly and using her ideas, or having Bridget go with you and help with your choices. I highly recommend B. Chic interiors. Her help was invaluable, the project turned out beautiful was done on a budget and I couldn't be happier!”

“Moved into a two bedroom, two bath apartment. Before moving in the colors for the walls were chosen and painting done, draperies ordered and the additional furniture we wanted ordered. M.S. Vicas Interiors were professional, sensitive to our ages, and available. Small changes we wanted to make were handled easily. It was a good experience in all respects.”

“First, I would strongly suggest working with a designer, period. Using a designer provides you with an objectivity, assistance with vendors, lower cost substitutes, discounts and a finished look that a trained designer can provide. Why Khadijah? In addition to all of the above, she is a skilled communicator (listener/interpreter). As such, she can quickly translate the client’s subjective values, aesthetic into concrete designs. Secondly, she is easy to work with. Her good people skills are particularly important in dealing with couples who bring their own communication style and differences into the conversation. Thus, KA is particularly skilled at getting to the root of differences and developing actionable solutions. Finally, she respects the client’s basic aesthetic values while gently exploring the space at the outer edge of their comfort zone. The effect is that you walk into the room and it feels right but not something you could have done yourself.”

“I had a pending job opportunity in DC area and came across basement property that would be ready by the time I would need it (3 months later). I viewed property in construction phase and could not see it as a place I'd want to live, let alone be ready in three months. I was so wrong and so blown away! The tiny basement apartment looked roomy and had a zen flow post construction. Amazing design!”

“We worked with StorieCollective for a remote design of the open concept living/dining area of our Capitol Hill home. Sara was fantastic to work with and we were so pleased with the ease of the design process as well as the result. Our space had its challenges but she came up with an excellent floor plan that used the space in a smarter way than we would have come up with on our own. We were keeping a few existing pieces of furniture and the other design choices that Sara made worked well with what we already had. Sara was very easy to collaborate with and her choices for our home were spot on. I loved the ease of the clickable shopping list and the ability to reference both the space plan and design concept. I’m so happy that we worked with StorieCollective- our space is absolutely more functional, beautiful and well curated as a result.”

“Design Milieu was an excellent firm to work with on the redesign of the office in our 125 year old Victorian. Karen Bengel, the owner, took a very odd layout and revamped it in a way that's beautiful and versatile. It was exceedingly easy to work with Karen since she truly took into account our needs and preferences. The end result was a beautiful space that works for our family. I would highly recommend Design Milieu to anyone looking for a designer.”

“Kaila is wonderful! She listens to your ideas and concerns. She provides multiple choices for every item and then develops concept boards so you can see how everything comes together. She never rushes you into making a decision. She’s also careful to provide choices within the budget you’ve established. It is definitely a real pleasure working with Kaila. Wendy Danziger is a 25-year veteran with a distinguished track record for creativity in specialized design projects, both large and small, both residential and commercial. She has vision. She's extraordinary in understanding her client's needs and preferences while bringing ideas and solutions that are within budget and efficiently implemented. She has developed kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room designs for us that brought a cohesive look to our entire home. Her use of color is exceptional and the coordination of rugs, textiles and artwork was brought together with a keen eye and understanding of our preferences. Wendy's thoughtful and cooperative relationship with builder, electrical, painting, furniture and textile specialists enables her to synchronize an interior design project efficiently to get the job done with minimal distruption to occupants. Together with the seasoning, skills and expertise noted above, Wendy is unique among design consultants in that she actively listens to the client to develop a plan/budget to suit - as opposed to many other designers who seem to want to focus on their own preferred aproach regardless of the client's needs.
