“I have been working with Jennifer from The Old Painted Cottage since 2011. I had been a faithful blog reader (http://theoldpaintedcottage.com/) and admirer of her style for a long time before getting the courage to contact her to see if she would agree to a design consultation to help me revamp my living room. My husband and I had recently moved into a 1960's ranch - that still looked like it was from the 1960s! I was so frustrated with trying to "design" my house on a budget and getting nowhere – I desperately wanted and needed help. I kind of knew what I wanted to do and the styles I admired, but I had no idea whatsoever how to create it on a realistic budget in my own home. I hired Jennifer to teach me how to beautify my living room. And oh boy - I cannot say enough about how absolutely wonderful it was (and has been since then) to work with Jennifer! After sending her the dimensions of my living area and images of living rooms I loved (many of them here on Houzz), we scheduled and had a phone consultation and OH.MY.GOSH! Jennifer's energy, excitement, ability to translate what I wanted to the redesign of my space - and all within my budget - was incredible! One of the most amazing things about Jennifer is that she patiently taught me many interior design secrets that I never knew but have since been able to apply to my whole home (e.g., hanging drapes higher than the top of the window, displaying décor items in threes, adding pops of complementary color, etc.) Needless to say, it is 2014 and Jennifer has let me hire her to design almost every room in my house! Since 2011, I’ve had two babies and she helped me design both nurseries. Jennifer also helped me revamp my master bedroom, TV room, and the sunroom! Currently, we are doing a whole house consult on a little lake cabin my husband and I recently purchased. Overall, Jennifer is a consummate professional, her fees are ridiculously reasonable, and she is able to “get into a space” and transform it simply by looking at before photos. Jennifer is a gem! I could go on and on about Jennifer…(and I hope to meet her in person one day soon!)”

“Have worked with Susan Jay for many years and she has always been a pleasure to work with. She listens to what you want, provides insight into positive, and more importantly negatives, of those desires. She provides guidance and does not design spaces to suit her own tastes but rather mine. She also works with very skilled, efficient and knowledgeable subs which is incredibly important. She also knows where to find the best furnishings and accessories. Could not recommend any more highly. All my friends who have used her services after being in my home say the same thing about her and her company.”

“I hired Neela to turn my small dark family room into a room my family wanted to use. Now it's the most used room in the house- after the kitchen, of course! Neela helped transform the room into the perfect family room for MY family. She listened to what I wanted, used family-friendly fabrics as I requested, and placed artistic touches throughout. Now it's a useable space- not just a beautiful space I don't want to touch as many "designed" rooms can be. My husband, son and I love the room. Now we're working in my dining room. After working with another designer (whose finished product I love but whose process I had problems with), I realize how Neela's organized, responsive process was crucial for me as a working mom.”

“I'm not a big believer of feng shui but I have been proven otherwise! Since I'm in a small house, everything needs to be carefully considered and so I went to Konni for ideas. She measured all of the rooms, and the backyard and even asked for the birthdays of the entire family. Then she came back with some ideas for both the interior and the landscaping outside. Some of the suggestions we still haven't implemented. BUT she recommended changing the position of the bed because she suspected my husband was not sleeping well and it totally worked. Thank you Konni!!!”

“Not only does Ava and Arlene have impeccable design taste. They will handle everything from the idea phase, to hiring the proper General Contractor, subs, over seeing the entire process and being present at the job site during the work. They did everything from A to Z. They made redecorating my home a simple breeze. From providing me my options and giving me the pros and cons of each option with various cost estimates made it easy for me to make a comfortable informed decision on every step of the process. They are extremely flexible with their service. Their contractors are also professional and very neat. They clean up after every job and make the process very convenient. The outcome turned out better than I expected and I am a very satisfied customer.”

“Christian is a genius! She’s highly creative and has a deep understanding of interior design. She has extensive knowledge about quality fabrics, high end construction details and her work proves just that. She walked into my space and knew exactly what to do with it. She guided me through the entire process of what I could expect and executed everything above and beyond. Exceeded all my expectations. She was meticulous for organization and communicative every step of the way. A bonus is she’ll have you laughing the entire time.”
