“Over the course of the Spring of 2013, Revi Mula of Monaco Interiors helped us to design and renovate our basement. Revi was very easy to work with, very professional, and was a good listener. I had strong ideas of my own, and Revi was willing to incorporate them into the overall design of our space. At each phase of construction, Revi would create her drawings and then consult with us about them. We had a large, unfinished and open space, to start with. Revi hired only the best, most highly-skilled tradesmen to do everything for us, from the ductwork to the framing, drywalling and painting, electrical work, flooring, and everything in between. Revi cares about her firm's reputation and she will only work with people who are honest, hardworking and trustworthy and who do the job properly, and in a timely manner. The work space was kept clean, which mattered to us. We ended up with a very pleasing design for a practical work/play area that feels spacious and bright, yet uses every inch of space in a functional way. We now have an extra 3-piece bath, a closet below stairs, a walk-in pantry, a work/studio area, a beautiful seating/sleeping area with gas fireplace, book shelves and big-screen tv, and a games area as well as a new furnace room. Revi respected our budget and found us beautiful materials and furnishings that suited our style. Her tradespeople are very conscientious and and clearly have a good working relationship with Revi. She oversaw the work and made home visits at regular intervals for consultations and to check on the work. She maintains the highest standards for workmanship and final product, and any small problems were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Revi returned my phone calls and emails promptly, so our communication was excellent. I know that if you want good results, you have to work with people who take real pride in their work, and that's exactly what you get with Monaco Interiors. I would not hesitate to give Monaco Interiors the highest recommendation and have already referred them to some friends. “My husband and I own a bakery-deli. In business for 29 years, we found ourselves operating in a tired retail area that we had outgrown. We challenged Nancy Lem to survey our existing space, usage patterns, and traffic flow. We asked her to analyze this and present us with a preliminary conceptual design scheme. Over the course of months, the final design evolved. Pages of plans, detailed drawings, mill right designs, interior and exterior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, electrical/ telephone/ cable plans, flooring plans, finish plans, cabinetry and furniture plans, product specifications…. It was daunting…I really had no idea of what we had initiated, but there was no turning back. Nancy guided us effortlessly through this major renovation (6months). She was a demanding representative for us. Her drawings served as a compass for everyone involved in the project. Visiting the job site daily, checking everything from dimensions to the quality of application of the paint. Guiding the project to its completion. Nancy combines careful listening with creative vision and problem solving. In my opinion, it is this combination of qualities that contribute to her success. The end result was not just a work place that was beautiful, but practical and functional. Three years later, we decided to enhance the quality of our personal life by renovating our 22 year-old, residential property. I was happy to know that Nancy would be working beside us again. Our dining room and living room, were rarely used; and seemed such a waste of living space. The wall separating the kitchen and dining room in my opinion had to come down to create a more open, functional area. The colour palette was dated, and there was no design theme. I needed Nancy to fix all my wrongs and make me fall in love with my home. This reno lasted for six months and consisted of reconstructing a Living Room, Lounge area (formerly Dining Room), Kitchen, Seated Eating area, Two Bathrooms, Front Foyer, Family Room and Master Bedroom. Nancy drew up the plans, sourced the materials and furnishings, specified the fixtures and fittings, chose the colour scheme and advised on window coverings. She arranged subcontractors and basically supervised the entire process until the curtains and pictures were hung and the sofas positioned properly. She accessory shopped for me, and turned my house into a home. All I needed to do was personalize it with pictures. Nancy will find a solution to any design challenge.
