“If you are interested in transforming your kitchen (or any room) into a magazine quality design, hire Lisa Hincher/The Good Home as your designer/project manager. We began working with Lisa on a master bedroom decorating and bathroom renovation project. We were so pleased and delighted with her work that we decided to hire her to orchestrate a major kitchen renovation. She connected us with the very best contractors/custom woodworkers and brought to life ideas that we would never have thought of or considered without her help. She made a complicated and very in-depth process seem effortless. In three months of working with her she *never once* dropped the ball and exceeded our expectations time and time again. Her connections in the industry are invaluable. We have heard so many negative stories about contractors but the people that Lisa brought to this project were the most hard-working and reliable individuals that we have ever encountered in this field. The end result is a truly breathtaking space that we enjoy greatly. I feel confident in recommending Lisa wholeheartedly. I needed Heather’s advice and guidance on placement, area rugs , fabrics, and accessories, some new, and also incorporating what I have already. Heather is pleasant, personable, easy to talk to, listens to what I want, and guides and advises me accordingly. This is what I need Heather for, but I can confidently say that she would be most helpful in any area of design. I am always clearer on how to proceed after we meet to discuss something.”

“Marcye Philbrook did interior design work for us over a period of about a year. She is not only a great designer, but a delightful person to interact with in every way. Marcye is a good listener — she quickly understood what we were looking for and adapted her proposals to suit our tastes and sensibilities, while also introducing us to a lot of creative, new ideas. She even expertly negotiated differences between me and my husband, searching for products and regenerating designs until she could please us both. Her design concepts for the rooms in our home were natural, practical, designs-to-live-in. She has a wonderful sense for color and texture — I particularly enjoyed working with her to choose fabrics for pillow sets for our den and living room. The results were quite different for the two rooms, but each set is like a little artwork in itself, with a few fun, specially constructed patchworks that she put together thinking about both design and efficient use of the fabric. She also has great contacts for painters, wallpaperers, rug dealers, seamstresses, cabinet makers, etc., and was able to subcontract directly or guide us to businesses that were honest and reliable and who provided excellent quality products and services. When we realized we had a very tight spot for a bathroom sink, she custom designed a cabinet herself to maximize the use of the space and even made the trip to the marble company warehouse to personally choose the cut of stone to use for the top. I love Marcye and I’d hire her again in a heartbeat.”

Because of Lisa's skills, I stay true to my aesthetic and don't waste extra time and money on decisions that are off path. Lisa is knowledgeable about the design industry, extremely resourceful, and creative beyond measure. As a skilled decorative painter, Lisa has also glazed pieces for me, thus transforming older furniture into stunning pieces of art. She is magic!”
