“To date Alan has fitted three kitchens for myself. I was so impressed with the results in our first kitchen that when I started property my property development business I knew exactly who I wanted to fit the kitchens for my projects. The first kitchen that Alan fitted for my property developing business was supplied and designed by a major retailer. Alan fitted the kitchen beautifully giving lots of ideas along the way of how we could maximise the design .When it came to my second development there was no doubt that I wanted to ask Alan to design and supply the kitchen also as well as fitting it. Alan has a wide range of good quality kitchens to choose from and brought samples for me to look at in the space when he came to design the kitchen using his CAD program.The space was very small with awkward corners and wall that were not straight. I was very keen to have built in appliances thus giving Alan a big challenge to try and fit in all of my requirements. Alan e-mailed me through designs very quickly and came out a second time to chat through the design with me. Alan fitted the kitchen beautifully and it more than exceeded my expectations. Being a small kitchen I was shocked at how he has used the space and how big the kitchen now feels. Alan even added a small breakfast bar to an alcove that was not even in the original design. Alan communicated with me at every step of the design and fitting process. There were no hidden costs and I know I can always rely on Alan to provide a friendly, professional service. Firstly the excellent service and planning provided, mainly by Carly King but finally with some useful tweaks \ ideas suggested by Chris Phillips, they offered every assistance requested, in order that we could compare and make an informed decision against a competitors offering, at no time did we feel any sales pressure and these factors, the ability to come within our budget swung the deal. Once the decision was taken we encountered a problem with our fitter but it was System Six who saved the day and us some cash by offering an excellent value service by one of their own reccommended fitters and Pete was, in our opinion, exceptional making every effort to accommodate our askewed walls and out of level flooring and we are very happy with the finish. Once fitted and inspected, the smallest of faults in door finishes were not questioned by Carly, they were all simply exchanged and fitted without question. “Right from the initial design brief Ralph Winter came back with a 'Wow Design'. Even down to the small details. For example, my wife doesn't like cold surfaces and is very tactile, so they accommodated that with the materials used. We were both immediately taken with their initial 3D design. Mike doesn't just plonk standard-sized kitchen units into a design program - he carefully considers symmetry and style, as well as functionality, and can create a kitchen with bespoke-sized units thus avoiding fillers and ugly gaps. “Julian is a dedicated and sincere craftsman of wood and, dare I say it, a perfectionist too. I came to know Julian and his family when my wife and I moved to Somerset in 2006 and wanted to restore and develop the interior of our part of a traditional Somerset double-gabled house dating from 1802. Julian revealed to us beams of ancient elm that had been buried under plaster by subsequent unappreciative generations and then created anew items made from fallen elm to echo the traditional wood used in this area. Items include, for our bathroom, an eliptical elm surface on which a sink sits, for my study a curved desk of elm (which is a joy to sit at). Also for my study, floor to ceiling shelves, with small LED lights that emerge from the wood as if modern candles. He created a special in-built lectern to display some artworks in book-form with two pages to view. Downstairs he created our kitchen, matching stone surfaces to specially chosen wood and restoring an enormous welsh dresser, making drawers accessible with modern movement while retaining the age old beauty of the original piece. At our office in Hampton Court, in homage to the famous Japanese American wood craftsman, George Nakashima 1905-1990, he created our boardroom table. This was from a fallen elm opened longitudinally, revealing the imperfections of time, and allowing the natural curve of the outer shape of the original tree to be part of the work, running a millimeter layer of maple down the middle of the table. Here he also created unique desks of oak and elm to echo, in a totally modern way via the choice of wood, our building which dates from the early 17th century. Here he also constructed for our bespoke needs two long rows of lectern style shelves needed for our contract folders - functional and yet in keeping with our building. His works never lose sight of functionality but are works of art in themselves to be appreciated. We know at our office from the reaction of our many customers who visit us from all over the world how people react to Julian's work and it is always with awe and interest. The works we have done with Julian started in 2006 and have continued to the present.”
