“A year ago, the garden at our new home was a neglected and overgrown mess, and far beyond my capabilities to bring it back to life. I had found North Leeds Garden Design on a website before we moved to Leeds, and it seemed to offer the sort of services that we were looking for. I asked Sarah Johnson to come and look at the project, and we had further site meetings before she produced a detailed plan for the restoration of the garden. I was particularly pleased that this turned out to be the style of garden that we had discussed with Sarah and not something that she wanted to impose on us. The works included new fencing and the grinding out of shrubs' roots. This part of the project was ably managed by Sarah's husband, George, who runs his own garden maintenance company. The overall outcome has matched our very high expectations, and we feel that the result has given good value for money. We can't wait to see the garden in what promises to be all it's glory in the Spring and Summer.”

“We initially approached Garden Designer Matt Haddon early in 2013 when our house was in the early stages of construction. He very carefully listened to our brief and gave us initial outlying designs, measuring, taking soil samples etc. We had thought that we would use his expertise to plan, design, and layout the new garden (we'd do the work) but we found him so knowledgeable, and amenable that we asked him to do the work for us. The planting is exquisite, we back onto open countryside and we wanted to have an extension of the country feel, making it a haven for birds, bees and nectar loving insects. Matt has done just that, our garden is full of colour, contrast, fruit and all manner of wonderful plants and tress - all carefully chosen for our soil type and aspect. Matt planned the garden with interest all year round and came back in October of this year to finalise next years spring bulbs. I cannot recommend Matt highly enough, our garden has been an investment and wonderful complement to our house. Matt has even left us with a comprehensive plant care plan, so that we know how to care for the plants he has chosen, now whilst we are not amateur gardeners, it is helpful to know sometimes if a particular plant or shrub needs cutting back hard in October or March! We are happy to recommend Matt 100% so if you are looking for garden design in East Yorkshire, or beyond, do give him a call. Matt was, I believe an arborist/trees specialist before he became a Garden Designer and we saw his award winning stand at the Harrogate Garden Show this year so we are very happy to be part of his successful portfolio of garden designs and landscaping work.”

“Lizzie Tulip is a great person to work with- she listens to your ideas and then creates a scheme based on what you want but even more. She has redesigned part of my front garden and also redesigned my terrace at the back of the house. “I am reluctant to write reviews but this company is exceptional. Mark Hanlon IS New Leaf Landscapes. He is the Planner, Negotiator, Technician, Designer and every working hour IMPLEMENTER of the agreed project. He does not run a large team and that is where he scores above all others. The small team he uses on a project are all on board until the job is finished. They are highly professional and exceptional in their work. No hopping off to get on with another project as I have found in the past with other such people. Mark and the team stay on site until the job is finished. This may be so with other landscapers but I have never come across someone who gives you more than you asked for in design ideas and technical drawings so that you know exactly what you are going to get as the finished job and at a fair price. He has completed three landscape jobs for me and on my recommendation he has done jobs for neighbours - a brave thing to do with good neighbours. They also have been delighted with the result.
