I recently went shopping for a new refrigerator as my old one was dying - sadly the cost of repairs was too high and for the last three days the refrigerator temperature has been 55 degrees - I should be getting our new fridge today.
I was inspired by houzz to look at French Door Refrigerators such as this one. I was convinced that I'd want to buy one. I don't need a big freezer so I liked the refrigerator to freezer ratio. It actually had more refrigerator space than many side-by-sides. Like a side-by-side, the fridge doors don't take a lot of room when opened. The big downside for me was that the ones that worked for my space turned out to be much shallower than I expected. So, I opted against the french door style. Suggest you check out refrigerators in person before you buy, it makes such a difference seeing them in person.
