We want to update the exterior
Comments (3)Those ideas are great / what a difference already. We were thinking of ranch sliders/ bi folds right along the front and taking out the triangular windows at the top as they are off set and filling that in with lineaboard painted a copper colour, and adding a more extensive deck. Thinking of taupe/grey paint on the roughcast at the bottom and lighter lineaboard or of the same taupe/grey at the top. Copper colours on the garage door, on the linea joins on the top half and around the soffits. What about the garage door being a block design e.g 5 x 4 block type look? Then it would match the entrance door. and covering in the windows at the bottom ( that's all garage underneath and is well lit with lights inside ). the outside light looks cool - maybe in copper? are you able to produce that for us, we would love to see if the concept works. Thank you....See MoreExterior update
Comments (7)Thank-you so much - yes I had thought of making the post more of a feature as they seem a little mean. Unfortunately the door is aluminium so it will have to stay white. I had thought maybe painting the house a shade of gray - fairly light gray....See MoreI need help with updating the curb appeal of the house.
Comments (16)Perhaps a colored door if you paint the home grey. Maybe Red? You could simulate a color change on door by hanging something over the door that is the color like a tablecloth or piece of fabric. If you search houzz for" grey homes", you can see what others have done. My home is painted Cape Cod Grey with white trim and it has been very easy to live with for years. I have a dark grey roof....See MoreBoring house looking for ideas on how to update
Comments (32)Hi definitely remove the x bars on the deck balustrade. Landscape close to the house so it grounds the house. Trees will make it look less bare. Chose some that work for your area, that are evergreen, and are not going to grow really big. With a really plain house - dark colors will make it look better. Dark Grey, or black with a warm tone so it doesn't have a blue undertone in it. Make sure it is a warm grey or black. Use green foliage around it. Paint out the pergola in the dark grey too or white if you want a different look. Fill in the balustrade where the x is removed with plants in front of those areas. Grow a vine up the pergola that is nice....See More- 12 years ago
