This is a clay lined pond at the end of a constructed stream. At the left of the image is an earthen dam. There was no one builder -- it was integrated into the earthwork, irrigation, stormwater systems and the landscape aesthetics of a beautiful hilltop estate that we designed from bare land, and in collaboration with an architect. The size is roughly 40 x 70 feet, and it is about 6-7 feet in the middle. A thin layer of gravel covers the clay lining to help with water clarity. Filtration and circulation are integrated into the water feature and constructed stream. It is not designed as a swimming pool...but there is no reason that it might not be enjoyed that way!
