I am getting confirmation from the builder about the flooring material tied into the staircase for you. As for any other details, the stringers are construction of solid Red Oak flat cut (apart from a veneer curved stringer which isn't solid for obvious reasons). The treads and risers were constructed of solid 1" plywood to that it could be clad with a granite/marble as per the builder's request.
Something unique about this staircase is that it is completely floating and approximately 6-8" from the windows on the surround walls! The self-support legs of each staircase is carrying the entire load into the LVL walls. It took a lot of work and thinking but that's what truly made this piece one of a kind.
Hello, I am installing a floating marble staircase in my home. Was the staircase supported by a steel frame to support the weight of the marble cladding?
