I am renovating the kitchen/diner/lounge in my apartment. I chose engineered oak flooring, plus a thick underlay with excellent soundproofing properties. Measuring up today with the kitchen company and the flooring company, there was a hearty debate about whether to 1) lay the flooring first and kitchen cabinetry after, or 2) cabinetry installed first, and the flooring around it. My husband and I are at a stalemate. I love the look of frameless shaker cabinets for our kitchen, but my husband thinks the edge-tape along the inside edges of the frameless will peel off and that it looks cheap. I feel like framed cabinets are old-fashioned and will make our kitchen look dated. My husband is more concerned about longevity and quality than appearances. Does anyone have photos of their white shaker kitchen with framed cabinets? I am having a hard time finding photos.
