I found this photo online, perhaps it will help. In this picture the crown molding on the cabinets flow from the kitchen to the adjoining room. Maintaining continuity with the color and some of the trim detail will make the rooms transition nicely. Don't overlook the details like hardware finish, lighting and plumbing fixtures as these elements can also tie the two styles together. I hope this was helpful.

I do not have any tiles in my current house but if you think about grout discolouring and looking bad.... then I think that might answer your question. My thought - the less grout the better.

My husband and I are at a stalemate. I love the look of frameless shaker cabinets for our kitchen, but my husband thinks the edge-tape along the inside edges of the frameless will peel off and that it looks cheap. I feel like framed cabinets are old-fashioned and will make our kitchen look dated. My husband is more concerned about longevity and quality than appearances. Does anyone have photos of their white shaker kitchen with framed cabinets? I am having a hard time finding photos.
