This Greene & Greene style kitchen is built of solid cherry. Boards used were 10" and wider which provides an ability to ensure all heart of the tree (as opposed to the sap) is used. In cherry the heartwood is a light pink that ages over time to a dark red. The sapwood in cherry is yellow and will always remain so only slightly intensifying in color over time. You can see this effect in what many manufacturers describe as "natural" cherry. No stain was utilized on this kitchen. If there are further questions about the kitchen please do not hesitate to ask.
