I love the color you have on the wall by the patio doors. I'd go with that all over if you want the space to feel warm. Or, if you want the rooms to feel cooler, you may want to go with sky blue or a calm green. The right shade of green brings in your outdoor plants, which looks very nice when you are looking out through the windows. Your flooring would look fine with any of these choices. Grey is another color to consider. I personally do not like it, yet is is quite popular now, especially with contemporary interiors.

I understand going with the grey since it is an 80's style house. You could also do bright bold colors. I do not know if that is your style. I have attached a quick rendering of the gray scheme you mentioned. I prefer light colors above dark colors. This keeps in theme with the sky and earth. Makes the house seem more grounded. The dark entry also draws your eye to it especially with the light coming from the other side of the house. I have also attached a quick rendering of a blue scheme. Hi, I am building a new house, there will be large sliding doors the full length of the living area cos the view is great. Unfortunately there’s also a road in front of the house! I can mitigate this a bit by having a raised earth mound with grasses on top, also the glass will be tinted (subtlely) but this won’t be much help in the evening when the lights are on inside. I was wondering about strip lighting the edge of the deck or outside walls to counter (or replace) the inside lighting. I don’t want to burn up too much energy though and we are near a dark sky preserve. what about something hanging from the eaves that’s spot-lit?? Any ideas please! - it’s a simple design with a mono pitch roof lower side to the front. Thanks in anticipation BBL
