Tiled shower floor or acrylic?
Comments (0)We are renovating our bathroom which is a 1925 character home. The floorboards in the bathroom are original native timber, which we are keeping. We are removing the bath and installing a shower. Three shower walls will be tiled - not sure whether to go with a tiled shower base/floor or a pre-made one....See MoreHow difficult to change to a bath with shower?
Comments (0)My line of thought is remove; shower tray, shower panel/door, make bath frame, add drop in bath, jib/tile around bath frame. can the existing drain be used for the plug and can we just add a tap for th bath? Would just have a shower curtain. Just looking for the simplest way to add a bath to the existing shower set up. Comments (2)I have to ask, do you really need that bath when you have such a tight space? Unless you have tiny children (and remember that's a temporary situation!,) I suggest a larger walk in shower e.g. 1200 x 800 and heated towel rail on the wall nearer the window so its more convenient. Would definitely keep the double vanity for those busy mornings with storage under and you could add mirror fronted cabinet recessed into the wall above the basins to add more storage. Hope that helps!...See MoreHow should I reduce echo in my tiled bathroom?
Comments (2)Hi there, this is very touch. But you have discovered the base principle already, soft materials or materials with a lot of surface area absorb the sound. Just shooting out some quick ideas here for you: A soft and thick rag or bath Matt on the floor. Curtains are a good sound absorber, but not to much in a moist bathroom. Potential mold issue ;-) Another idea could be to hang bathrobes on hooks or a fabric laundry hamper onto the back of your door. If you find its still not enough.... since your walls are already tiled. you could do something on your ceiling... like a timber slat ceiling or a painted plywood paneling with holes in it. Make sure you use polycaprithane paint for moisture protection on the timber.... hope this helps. If there are questions or you need more help, feel free to send me a message. Cheers Gunnar...See Moretullysmum
