We have a 1930's bungalow that has previously been rewired (when purchased in mid 1990's) and is now being renovated so all affected areas are being updated again to bring to current code and new cabling has been run through the ceiling in preparation for the rest of the reno yet to be completed. We have also had a new switchboard installed. All good. My sister is in a house of around the same age that was apparently rewired before she purchased except for 2 bedrooms. They have had a quote from an electrician who says he can do it but does not go into ceilings. Is it even possible to rewire without going into the ceiling? My sparkie says no way, it is a disaster waiting to happen but my sister has faith in her electrician and says she will get compliance cert. Is my sparkie being overly cautious about this?
