securing the shelf is unclear

I don't see how to put a shelf on the bracket so it doesn't fall off when something is on it. I want to put my BOSE on a shelf it is 9.5 inches in depth and abit heavy.
I feel like the shelf part should have holes drilled where the brackets would go into.

Hey Brenda,

You will want to drill holes in the shelf for the rods to fit into. This will secure the shelf on the bracket. Thanks!
