Design Dilemma Kitchens

I'd like to redo my kitchen, but am stuck on what to do. I'd like a larger kitchen, possibly extending into the small dining space next to it. Thoughts? Previous owners purchased the counter top. I'm not a fan of the cabinets, or color.

The pictures are a start, but really a diagram of the space (with measurements) is a must.

oh sorry - i did this a couple of times but it can't have loaded..... can you not put a PDF file as a photo praps... maybe i will have to take a photo of the plan and load that.

Here's a couple of ideas that work really well as alternatives to a walk in pantry. They integrate into your wall cabinetry, allowing you to keep central spaces open and free flowing. Using drawers to create a pantry as Esselai suggests. Check out how Harn Triomax soft close drawers are used in just this way. Availble in classic white or metallic grey. Two front to back depth options - 500mm and 5500mm. And 8 drawer width options from 450mm to 1200mm. Alternatively, there are a number of quality pull out pantry options in the German designed and made Vauth-Sagel range. Some are installed with fixed fronts to match your cabinetry, and others are installed behind hinged doors. See below (from top to bottom) the VSA model, DUSA model and HSA model. These all come in a variety of width options and specs, from chromed wire shelves to sold bases with glass panelling.

Possible suggestions if sticking to same floor plan and hands firmly glued to the budget Leave the stove where it is. Down the side of the stove securely attach slimline fireproof panelling to the height of the oven's back control panel and the depth of the oven. Floor to ceiling if you prefer then if you wanted to you could change out the door itself, that is put the door handle to the right of the door so it swings back flush with the fireproof panelling. Put the dishwasher under the stainless steel bench top left of the sink. Take all the cabinetry out where the dishwasher is currently housed place the fridge in the centre of that wall building functional cabinetry around it. Get rid of the cupboard at the end of the stainless steel bench replace it with a wheeled butchers block the same width and depth of bench also have hinged sides so you can get extra useable bench top surfacing. You could then wheel it around include brakes on it of course so little hands don't go racing around with it.

Yes, good start with the photos--just a note: you might want to include a picture of the refrigerator wall to get a more complete picture of the space, and as noted above, some basic dimensions of the space from wall to wall; ceiling height would be helpful too. You presently have a good sink to range layout. If you are getting new cabinets - which I recommend as opposed to painting oak, then the least expensive option is to leave plumbing and range where they are - if budget is an issue. If there is space to the right of the sink for the fridge and counter space in between sink and fridge, that would give you the option of an L shaped kitchen with an island. In kitchens your size - as I am guessing from the photo, you can have a U shaped kitchen with a peninsula, as you have, or an L shaped with an island. If you did the L shaped with island, there might be space for a row of narrow pantry cabinets where the fridge is now. Look to move the microwave to another spot and get a true vent hood. Read the new to kitchens link above and do post a measured floor plan and budget for best, usable advice.

It is possible you will need to consider new flooring if the flooring does not run under the cabinets and you move some cabinets - like the peninsula.

If you leave tge layout as is, move the dishwasher to the other side of the sink to get it out of the prep space between the sink and the stove.

Provide a diagram and pertinent measurement for more specific help.
