Bathroom facelift help

Hi, we've just bought a 90's house that needs a facelift. We're doing the painting and new flooring through most of the house before we move in but I'm not sure what to do about the bathroom. We can't fit in a complete bathroom reno for a couple of years so I just need ideas on how to update it in the meantime. I'm thinking of painting the walls and wall tiles white. I'm not sure what to do about the vanity and the colour of the sink/bath is hideous but I'm lost on what is possible without ripping them out (not really in the budget). The window frames throughout the house are colourbond 'classic cream' and unfortunately won't be changed so I'm painting the rest of the interior in Haymes 'white wash' or Dulux "natural white' and wanting to keep to a neutral/natural style throughout the house. There is also a shower to left in the pic and a toilet to right. Thanks for your ideas.

What really stands out for me is the blue and white combined with apricot. I would paint the walls the same colour as the tiles, and remove the window curtain.

Hello, To keep within your budget, I would recommend painting the bath and sink, including the vanity and mirror frame. I would then add a couple of lush green plants and some candles around the bath.

Adding a stunning Mosaic feature would completely change the look and feel of the bathroom.

To save on costs, the Mosaic feature wouldn't need to be installed within the tiles, you could just hang it for now and maybe install it later when you are ready to renovate.

Personally, it's better to have a wall between the bathroom and the toilet so no one gets walked in on. Definitely a good idea to keep the bath in case of reselling, although are you planning on going anywhere? If not, get rid of the bath and get a bigger shower I think.

Hey Guys I'm a newbie I've decided to slowly paint and change a few things in my Nan's house in hope's of transforming it and making it less of an eye sore Never done anything like this before , but love a great transformation. And thought this be an awesome project for myself. I am starting off with the bathroom, I will attach some photos of it currently, I was looking at warm greys for the walls , ceiling possibly white-ish but need more suggestions on colours , as I completely stuck as this anything would be helpful will probably paint first, then do flooring , then vanity?? Hi Fernando. Not sure if you have considered the shower door in your layout, either the bath traps or it collides with the bathroom entry door, some awkward gaps by the bath and vanity there too, cleaning will drive you crazy. What do you think of this layout? This means you can have a 900 x 1200 shower with a sliding door and just room for a towel rail next to the vanity. Let me know how you go!

White and greys are a great way to change the atmosphere of a space. If you can change some parts of tiling or paint walls that will help a lot. We actually sell LED mirrors that can be hung onto the wall and on top of tiles, and I think something like that would really lift up the space and make it feel modern! not sure a mosaic is the first thing i would do in this space!! But placing a few leafy plants will freshen up the overly warm vibe.

We have been in h=our house for 13 years now and somehow we still have a 1980 bathroom, arghh. This bathroom looks functional enough to me just for now. But you could tweak it to take out some of that peachy vibe by creating a bit of contrast with more white. paint wall tiles and cabinet doors white, change taps over to chrome finish (this alone will make a world of difference), white towels and simple accessories and yes, lose the lace curtain (might need some frosting for the window if overlooked.). good luck with it all :)

I would recommend replacing the vanity even for a second hand one. It would give the bathroom the lift it needs. Plus a new mirror and a large piece of art on the wall and it would give it a whole new look

Unsure of your budget but I would remove the curtains, paint the tiles and walls, replace the vanity mirror and the cupboards on the vanity and it will completely change the space until you are able to do a reno.
