Medicine cabinets have come along way in recent years. The best option is to get a frameless style and integrate it into a wall of mirror. You can mount sconces thru the mirror on either side of the cabinet. If you have walls on either side of the sink, you can put the cabinets to the side, integrated into mirror again. If you have an open wall in your bath, yo can get an extra tall medicine cabinet to hold loads of stuff. There are loads more on houzz photos. Just search medicine cabinet. Sometimes you have to hunt for the cabinet because they are so well integrated. Robern makes some of the best frameless styles, but there are a ton of others on faucetdirect.com. Many even come with integrated lighting for a very modern look.

Hi Nic, I've been stuck with shower-over-baths in a few rentals and they can be slippery death traps! They also get grotty in summer with bare feet, post beach showers etc which limits usage as a bath anyway. If your kids are old enough I'd go for just a nice big shower area or a separate shower with a compact freestanding bath if you can fit one. If your kids are little or the above won't work for you here's some tips to make a shower over bath safer and easy to use: - Pick a bath with an absolutely flat bottom and anti slip texture at the shower end (those suction anti-slip mats are worse than useless). - Position the shower screen so that you can step straight onto the anti slip part. - Make sure the bath edge is low enough for the kids to enter end exit easily. - A hand held shower head that can move up and down would be a nice addition. Hi We are torn between a black and a white bathroom vanity. Here are the details of the bathroom: Large marble tiles on floor and up walls. With large round mirror above vanity One feature wall in charcoal hexagons Chrome tapware Concrete basin. We are wondering whether to put the basin on a white concrete top and white vanity front (safe!) OR Black vanity with either white or black top. Love the idea of a black vanity- I think it would really pop with all the grey/white in the tiles/basin etc but would it look odd with a white top (so 3 diff colours grey basin/white top/black vanity front) Better to have a black top? Anyone got an examples to show me? Thanks
