Have a rolling side table. 2 floor liners and/or rug throws to place wherever. Comfy pillows to lounge on the floor. Go to Anna's linens or the nearest discount fabric store and get some cool fabrics to use as window shades. You can change the fabric depending on the season or if you get sick of the color. You would be amazed the difference in how your room looks depending upon the color the curtain creates when light shines in the room. For the bed, Get two throws, have fun with the design, get something you like regardless if you think it will match or not. Lastly, you can put the extra throws, pillows, blankets in bins under you bed. Cheers!

Bottom line, a toe kick is to stop you stubbing your toe and get your closer to your worktop counter. If you can fit your foot underneath it in shoes or barefoot while standing at a counter and not stub your toe or hurt your upper foot, you can do it. If you cannot, you will be forced to stand back further at your counter and that will not be comfortable for you in the long run.

Hi, I am building a new house, there will be large sliding doors the full length of the living area cos the view is great. Unfortunately there’s also a road in front of the house! I can mitigate this a bit by having a raised earth mound with grasses on top, also the glass will be tinted (subtlely) but this won’t be much help in the evening when the lights are on inside. I was wondering about strip lighting the edge of the deck or outside walls to counter (or replace) the inside lighting. I don’t want to burn up too much energy though and we are near a dark sky preserve. what about something hanging from the eaves that’s spot-lit??
