Second storey extension on 2017 small project home?

Just looking for thoughts/opinions on whether it is a) possible (from structural and building regulation point of view) and b) any rough idea of cost to add a second storey addition on a newish (2017) build 3 bed 2 bath narrow home?
Always assumed it would be too difficult and we'd be best to upgrade to a bigger home on outgrowing this one but with soaring house prices wondering if worth rethinking this...
House was a fairly basic project build so not sure if structurally this is possible. House is 119 square metres on a 329 square metre block. I've read that we would likely lose at least 1 bedroom for stairs so would be looking to probably add 2-3 bedrooms (depending if we lose 1 or 2 bedrooms to stairs) and bathroom upstairs, to have 4 bed 3 bath house total (only really need 2 bathrooms for the house but if the bedrooms are upstairs would probably need one upstairs for convenience).
We like the area and would ideally want to stay here for at least another 5 years before we are ready for a dream home but rapidly outgrowing house, and bed 2 & 3 are quite impractical (small)
Wondering if putting $$ towards extension rather than costs of selling and buying may work out better in the current climate, and avoid a move (although aware will need to link with real estate agent to ensure we don't overcapitalise).
Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Attached current floor plan and second storey plans found online as basic examples of what I mean.
