What window trim did you use?

Beautiful! Could you please tell me what window trim you used with the Everlast siding? We are planning on using this product but our contractor has suggested Versatex for window trim rather than Everlast’s trim. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi Tricia!

We use both Azek and Everlast trim products. Specifically, we installed 1x4 PVC with a standard sill nose here for the window. Versatex seems to be gaining popularity in the industry, but we haven't used it on our projects, so we're not able to offer our thoughts there. Using Everlast's trim is specifically great for color matching, especially on the corners, but isn't required. All depends on the look you're going for.

Thank you so much for the quick reply! After seeing both products I think we are leaning towards the Versatex but I am going to ask about the Azek trim too. We’ve used it in other projects and wondering why he suggested Versatex instead of Azek? I really appreciate the information provided! You do beautiful work!

Hi anne, that's what I was originally thinking, my issue is what colour I use for the 'pop' :) I keep coming back to a teal/turquoise colour (it's one of my favourite colours!!), I love blues, purples, teal/turquoise - many on here have suggested yellow but I'm really not sure about it. Here in New Zealand we're in Autumn, nearing Winter so uncertain about the yellow. Any rod will work that does not have decorative finials. A U shaped rod. I would prefer sheers and drapery that go to the floor. But you can use what you have also. A roman shade can take the place of the sheers and mounted inside the frame. You can use ring clips for the drapes for easy opening and closing. Thank you for the new photos.

Top down bottom up blinds? They come with an aluminum coating too (to block sunlight and thus heat). In our bedroom we installed 2 roller blinds on top of eachother. Both white. One translucent for privacy and one to darken the room. It was cheaper that the dual layered (cellular) blinds and I did not want foil. Not sure if you'd have the space for that (we insulated the walls from the inside, so our window frames are quite deep).

I'm about to begin a long awaited renovation and alteration and I'm seriously considering using black leather flooring planks throughout, except for the bathroom areas. YES I know it's likely to cost an arm and a leg but putting that to one side, I'd like to hear from anyone who has actually had leather flooring. Did it wear well? Did it scratch? If it did scratch, did this detract or just add to the overall look? What were your findings on cleaning the floor? Was it as warm and quiet as you expected? Would you purchase a leather floor again? What else would you advise me on using a leather flooring product?
