Maybe an artwork centred above the bedhead about 500mm above the bedhead.

I'd leave it as it is. The bedhead, side tables and doona cover are all very ornate and detailed and I think artwork would look too busy and overkill. Looks lovely as it is.

Thanks all for your suggestions, @zen_garden I have considered a dark green or deep raspberry but am worried it might overwhelm the space as it is quite a large wall, about 4m x 3m.

Agree with painting the wall a darker colour to highlight your furnishings, I wouldn’t add anything behind bed but would add some beautiful seating to compliment the room, pick up a colour from your bedding, could look very luxurious

If you can afford the panelling pictured above that would be beautiful. However to me it screams wallpaper. I know wallpaper used to be a pain to install and remove. There are some great wallpapers out there now. They stick on and easily peel off. Something subtle with a floral design in the background would really give the bedroom even more character.

I was going to say wallpaper too -- just a plain forest green and cream striped one looks like it would tie in with the duvet cover and still be simple enough to not overpower the ornate features .

If you prefer another colour , then cream and burgundy , or cream and mid-yellow , or cream and black if you want monochrome .

Make that wall a feature , not just the furniture .

This is a lovely room, Sophie. Your choice of furniture & furnishings is excellent. If you felt that the wall needed to be papered l would choose something plain, but luxurious. Or just enjoy what you have now....... Loren.

Lovely room and I wouldn’t add artwork as it will detract from your lovely bedding. Personally I would choose a deep green from your quilt cover or another dark colour from it that you love.
I’ve also seen rooms with matching mirrors behind the bedside tables but that would depend on what they will reflect and whether you need additional light in room.

The bedroom isn't that big to be painting it a darker colour... I would introduce a wallpaper with texture for movement - wouldn't go dark. I would change the lampshades over also, you could introduce another texture in the shade of a darker tone, which creates a contrast between wall and shade. Natasha Walker Interiors

What a beautiful room. You could also pick up the lighter blush pink colours of the duvet with a textured wall paper, or a colour on the wall such as Resene Soothe which is a soft brown pink. I've mocked it up below. The bed is the feature and you've done a lovely job styling it. Rebecca

I would paint it with some of the dark tones that you have on your quilt.

What about a mirror behind each lamp to add height & depth without detracting from the bed head. I would also apply textured wallpaper to the wall to add a sense of warmth to the room.
